Taking nothing away from Solent as what they're achieving here is seriously impressive. I can certainly never remember a lower league team performing anywhere close to this in the Trophy before. But I remain sceptical as to how competitive they'd actually be playing BBL level competition on a weekly basis. Clearly they're a decent side... better than the sum of their parts perhaps? But I'm struggling to spot anything obviously outstanding about this squad of players. And they'd be seriously undersized, even in a relatively small league like the BBL.
How many BBL teams do people honestly think Solent look stronger than on paper? I reckon it's a very short list personally.

They beat lions earlier in the run and beat Scorchers pre-season They were better than Raiders before the Turkish billionaire at least. Theyve not lost for a year. They can can only keep beating what's in front of them I guess

Game isn't played on paper really though is it.
If it was then technically Arturas Masiulis should have destroyed this league when he was in Worcester.... Likewise with Julius Hodge at Cheshire.

Isnt being better than the sum of the parts a sign of good coaching?

Wow did I pick the wrong Friday night to not watch any games - first Newcastle, now this!

To be fair, Hodge was the best part of a decade removed from his brief NBA career by the time Cheshire signed him. Don't think he'd even played anywhere the previous season. The game isn't played entirely on paper for sure but it's still a relevant consideration. If you are man for man one of the weakest teams in your league, it's going to take some coaching job to get you winning games consistently.

I'd say the sharks are possibly one of the worst teams on paper in the league, and they seem to be able to beat anyone on any given day.
Wouldn't advise anything more than a quick glance at what individuals look like on paper. Offers little to no insight into how they compliment each other or anything.
