Having experienced the RAIDERdome match day atmosphere and recently listened to the "Swing low, Sweet chariot" for the rugby to invigorate the players I was wondering whether it would be a good idea for a Team song before the start of each of the quarters. A bit of an enhancement on the "Lets Go Raiders lets go" Any persons any ideas for it? Obviously needs to be quite short before play
As a starter how about to the tune "Fight song"
This is our game song, Take back our fortress song Prove we are alright song We are going to win this Starting right now we will be strong This is our game song
If a song is used perhaps the digital projectors can be used to protect the words on the walls

A new low for British Basketball.................. I think the rugby have already got the "low" sorted, but that involves a swinging chariot though.

I personally think LFC fans consistently produce innovative a brilliant songs. How someoneβs brainchild is transferred to the mouths in the cop interests me. I have no idea.

Not a fan of team songs, it's cringey enough when I watch AFL when the team I follow plays, Fremantle Dockers.

Going back a few years, there were many basketball fans who were far more inventive with chants than they are now.
There were songs for individual players which doesn't seem to happen anymore (MK Lions fans for example had songs for many of the players) & there were enough "vocal fans" to get some occassional off-the-cuff chants going during the game.
It's generally very sterile now & you don't really hear anything beyond 'defence' and the teams name!!
But if your whole marketing promotion is focused towards "family entertainment" as opposed to a sporting event then I guess that's what you end up with!

Once it becomes family entertainment there's a lot of onus on the clubs and their match night commentators to create the atmosphere with the right music etc.
