In the good old days 2 (or more) people could have polar opposite views on topics, whether it be sports, politics, religion or many more things. Sometimes you listened to the other side and changed your view after seeing their logic. But more likely you agreed to disagree and got on with your lives. But nowadays that seems to have gone by the roadside. A doesnt agree with B so they are determined to batter each other verbally or physically. Tbh I dont read hardly any of the he said she said stuff that dominates this board now. It bores and saddens me. The sport that all on here follow and probably the majority love, has a small enough following as it is. Can everyone stop the bitching and get back to talking about Bbl & BE basketball.

Completely agree.
I only follow the BBL sporadically from YouTube these days but I'd be much more likely to comment if there wasn't so much personal animosity towards certain posters.
I haven't checked since I registered last week but isn't there the option to block individual contributors if you don't want to read their posts?

Yes you can And I wouldn't blame anyone for doing so FWIW i've asked hersey to block me and I will block him in return but he refuses to Instead he just wants to continue to stalk me with his snidey weasel posts all the time The mods should have banned us both IMO But 100 per cent if I get banned its because he's just a snidey little sh8t who thinks he can just dig away |

Do people know there's a Block user feature on here, I haven't had to use it until recently.
This place is becoming a wee bit toxic, users getting belittled for having an opinion and it turns rather nasty.

As far as I'm concerned I agree with post on another thread. A lot of posters on old WhatsBev gave up and left because of the antics of 1 person. It used to be good where where as tonyleopard says above you agreed to disagree and got on with your lives. However when you have 1 person hogging the boards replying in long posts to their own posts and determined to have the last word!! It's more toxic than ever and as far as I'm concerned they are the main cause of the trouble. Every so often they say they're stopping posting but like a bad penny, they can't keep away. It appears that the toxicity has multiplied in the period that we all have to stay in. Sits back and waits for the inevitable response..... |

You asked me to stop replying to your posts. That's not how a messageboard works, and considering you spam virtually every thread, it's not a reasonable request.
But to answer Tony's original point. Today's Bev is positively sane compared to when I arrived on the scene back in 97. I wish some of you could have seen the women's board - it was truly brutal. Both of us are long-termers in this asylum, I can't see that anything's changed.
