Hey all, Firstly I hope this is allowed! During the coronavirus lockdown I re-started The UK Basketball Hub (formerly a blog and YouTube show). We are doing podcast episodes throughout the lockdown hearing legends, players and coaches stories. Currently we have: Colin Irish Paul Douglas Steve Nelson Andrew Bridge Rachael Vanderwal With episodes featuring Betty Codona, Peter Scantlebury and Temi Fagbenle to come this week. It's just gone up and I'm listening now so can't give a verdict, but here's one with Dan Routledge.

Are there any obscure/forgotten stars you would be interested in hearing from? We spoke to Colin Irish who said he hadn’t done in a media interview in the U.K. in around 15-20 years.

BB Hub - these podcasts are marvellous. Have now listened to the Douglas, Irish and Bridgey ones. Terrific.
Any nostalgic stuff really interests me but I guess its the 80s/90s period that most interests me, so any characters you could speak to from that era would be fabulous.
Inparticular any guys who played in the Midlands e.g.
1. Birmingham Bullets - Nigel Lloyd or Tony Dorsey or perhaps some of the English guys. Or coaches like Nick Nurse/Lance Randall/Mike Finger. Maybe someone would give us the gen on what really happened in the "Night of the Long Knives" when Bullets purged the likes of Mark Robinson/Chuck Guitar/Mark Considine that left just a Fab Five at Bullets (Lloyd/Flournoy/Kirk/Allen/Simms?)
2. Coventry Crusaders - Dip Donaldson would certainly have some stories to tell, both from his stewardship of Coventry and his stints at Bullets/Oldham/Leicester.
3. Derby Bucks/Rams/Storm - guys like Jason Siemon or get Tim Lascelles to relate the details of the notorious brawl at Moorways.
4. Leicester Riders - obviously Karl Brown, or maybe people like John Tresvant or Yorick Williams.

Apparently the first British media related thing he’s done in 20 years! Will be interesting to hear what he’s been up to as well as his thoughts on Birmingham’s last trophy. Yorick would be great and covers most of the teams you mentioned Solly!

BB Hub - excellent finger. Especially like the way that the interviewees are allowed plenty of space to answer the questions and consequently expand more than they may have otherwise done. I struggle to think of any TV interviewers who I think much of. You get the obvious assholes like Carr/Ross/Norton who overpower their guests with their egos and even going back in time you get twats like Wogan/McDonald who are ridiculously over-lauded.

Mansoor Ahmed!
Going to be listening to this one later. Mansoor is such a great guy, anyone who has been in basketball media will know him.

Just listened to the Lionel Price interview on UK Basketball Hub. Quite a character!
I hadn't realised just how many more podcasts had been put up since I listened to The Mike Finger one.
Thank you bbhub - outstanding work.
These podcasts are hereby awarded a Solly Thinks They Are Ace recommendation.
