Same league Gentrey Thomas came from. Maybe a league to keep an eye on going forwards.

Same league and team Cory Dixon started on, not coming off the bench. Canadian NBL isnt a big league, not much better than the BBL

Gb’s Kyle Johnson went for 51 off 17/21 shooting during 2 championship winning years with “London Lightning”.
Not sure what that says for the standard of league but I wouldn’t put him in the same talent bracket as say a Lawrence or Robinson.

Kyle Johnson is the type of player bbl clubs should be trying to sign. Probably got 5 years left playing at the pro level, plenty of caps too, I'd want him

What did he average over 2 years? Above are you saying he hit 17 x 3 pts from 21 attempts to get 51 points?

Surprised this went unreported on here but noticed the other day that JR signed a deal with an Israeli top flight team for the conclusion of their 2019/20 season. Not entirely sure what the standard of the Canadian NBL is like but I am confident that the 'Winner League' is a pretty good one. He debuted last month against a Maccabi Tel Aviv side containing Deni Avdija, Amare Stoudemire, Quincy Acy and Tyler Dorsey. With the exception of Avdija I realise these are just a bunch of BUSTED American players that no club with a shred of credibility would roster. Not sure why I'm attempting to make it sound like impressive company really, though Maccabi were miraculously 5th in EuroLeague when the season was abandoned.
Don't think the deal runs into next season and it looks like his team will be relegated anyway but he did pretty well individually averaging 14 ppg across his eight appearances. For all the success Riders have had over the last 5-10 years I'm struggling to think of a single ex-player who has gone on to have a top level career. As nice a BBL player as JR was I didn't really have him down as being the first. Didn't have a great time of it at all in Europe Cup. But he won't have done his chances any harm with this effort. He's having a better 2020 than many.

JR was a quality player. The only other one that springs to mind is Andre Jones who has had a very successful European career since leavin Newcastle. But I may have forgotten some!

He seemed the most chilled individual on court and no matter what the state of play was in a game he kept a cool head and just went out to do his best and barely registered on the emotional Richter scale. Can't recall Rob ever blasting JR with the hairdryer treatment, although I could be (and probably am) wrong! Just about everyone else was blasted on a pretty regular basis.

I've seen Rob blast the water boy, no way JR got away with it lol
