I would have watched Barca game but I saw your post too late. It would have been good to see some basketball of some sort.

the second game was better. I can't see Baskonia stopping Barca tomorrow, but it should be a decent game.
I do think it's a bit sad how little interest there is in decent - free - basketball. BBL fans really do seem to exist in their own bubble.

I watched it using that link you posted but I think you're spot on with your thoughts about BBL fans being just that, BBL fans. Hopefully when eventually things sort themselves out people will get back to their local teams, it's only freaks like you that watch anybody and everybody bouncing a basketball!!

hersey427 - I tried to watch the Barcelona match (on Willy Hill site) but was just too difficult on such a mini picture. Aside from when the cameras zoomed in on a player it was just too painful trying to make out what was occurring.
You may or may not be defined as a freak, dependent on many factors.
Similarly, so may I.
Also similarly I adore basketball from anywhere in the world.
Back in the day I used to watch live German matches on a Sunday evening, on the old WHSmith Screensport channel.
For many years I also viewed many continental matches on Eurosport, sponsored at the time by Russell Athletic sportswear.
Sad that those viewing options no longer exist.

Solly, the above link should allow you to watch it on a laptop. The final is 7pm tonight.
I think we're both freaks. Not in a bad way.

Thanks for the link ... It's a bit pixalated on the laptop, but on me smartphone the quality is exceptional. Really wierd watching such a high level final with no crowd participation !! just imagine the atmosphere if the fans were allowed in ... such a shame ...as for that pony tail ... WTF ?? T/O 67 all ... 10 sec to go T/O 67 - 69 to KBA ... 3.2 secs to go Well done KBA ... bet nobody saw that one coming

You mean this? I thought it looked quite interesting and will - obviously - give it a go later. Might see Dunkster in action.

I watched some of this last night - quite enjoyed it. First time I had seen the Elam ending in use. I thought it was quite interesting. Good to finish on an actual bucket rather than a series of fouls and free throws.

The tournament and composition of the teams is a bit curious, but I thought last night's TBT was a decent watch.

I think it's quite interesting. The names are a bit naff and given the thrown together nature of the sides it's unlikely to be the greatest team basketball you've ever seen. But it's competitive and there's a hugely diverse mix of players involved. Guys who've played in professional leagues literally all over the world and ability levels ranging from fringe NBA to fringe pro.
Pretty sure the Marlon Johnson on 'Brotherly Love' was a teammate of JR Holder last season in Canada. And whilst I can't honestly say that I remember the guy, at all, there's a Mike Ringgold on this same roster who apparently played for Glasgow Rocks in 2012/13.
I reckon some of the guys involved in this could probably be good, vaguely realistic targets for BBL clubs. At least under normal circumstances. If you put your scouting caps on, maybe you can find your team a few players.

Obviously nowhere near the standard of stuff we see in the UK. I'm thinking of going into business selling BBL team branded blinkers.

Obviously nowhere near the standard of stuff we see in the UK. I'm thinking of going into business selling BBL team branded blinkers. Understand both comments. I'm not interested unless I can get into a game. But I agree with Hearsay that it's a really good watch; but it's a Elam finish; not an Elan finish! Hersey's overview is it is like a story without an ending. Heartfire lead Men of Mackey at Half Time; and that's it. Now had the "publication" been held back one hour it would have described how at the four minute mark Heartfire led 77-71. The game clock was switched off and the target set to 85. MoM finished on a 12-0 (or 10-0) run to win 85-79. March Madness is my favourite basketball and I love getting engaged with teams in the sudden death environment. The Basketball Tournament gives that feel as the teams return quickly for another win or go home match. The standard and quality of is surprisingly good. It’s interesting to see players I remember, like the giant Purdue graduate Isacc Haas playing for the Men of Mackey Purdue Alumni who scored the Elam winning lay-up. MoM then played Boheim’s Army (Syracuse Alumni) losing in a good match up with Triche scoring the winning free throw. The moment I heard the name Triche Syracuse in the game; my instant reaction was ex-Bracknell Tiger and Syracuse graduate Howard Triche; until I realised he’d be in his 50’s now. That’s what happens when your listening out for names you recognise. Not many would think Howard before Brandon. I’m a fan of this Elam finish. It doesn’t feel contrived. I wouldn’t object to the BBL using it in the Trophy tournament for example. Not something I’d want to see in the League though.

I have jumped in a couple of times - and no doubt will over the weekend again. In same way I can relate to and watch college basketball more than I watch NBA, I do find this easier to relate to and watch than NBA also. Prefer to watch SBC and BBL live - but thats not always possible to fit in. So on the BBL blinkers - you wont get a sale to me It was funny the other day when my son walked in and asked what the games were - I said the interesting part is how they close the games out. Ah he said they have copied the NBA allstars - so corrected him on who copied who lol

Finally finished it, watched every game and really enjoyed it. Travis Deiner needs a film making about him.
