In April, for every Covid death, the UK only identified 7 other cases.
In May it was 12 and June was 14.
In July, we now identify 39 other Covid cases for every 1 death.
Number of cases and comparing to previous spikes is NOT a good way to look at the statistics.
ENJOY 😊🥳

In response to milehighs message- thank you for patronising me and assuming my knowledge or lack thereof. If you would like information on my knowledge and experience in planning and working with COVID please get in touch via PM (I haven’t said I don’t think there are risks nor do I think it’s nothing) Also thank you for pointing out an apparent lack of knowledge from yourself whilst doing so. Whilst the premier league is professional football, it is not ALL professional football.
Obviously that very simple fact is too complex for you!

Second waves and third waves are when the disease goes away and then returns. There's a lot on the news right now that calling things second wave etc is misleading.
We've not experienced that yet in the UK as we have never eradicated the disease in the first place. We've just conbasketball kited it. The first wave has never been eradicated in UK nor the world. In fact it's just grown and grown overall around the world.
Very few places (whose figures you can actually trust) have experienced eradication of the first wave. New Zealand being one place you could say has eradicated. (However, if people coming into New Zealand bring back the virus you could argue that's still the first wave just not being managed as well)
What we have in UK is first wave just being managed with lockdowns and social distancing, and dips and surges of the first wave rather than new waves.
And the more rules we relax the more surges we will get of the existing virus. Although hopefully they can be localised and acted on quickly
I expect we are going to get many many localised surges in the UK over time.
Based on what's happening in the rest of the world it's pretty much inevitable and I believe our government realise this. It's not if. It's when and where.
That's why we have levels of lockdown and they will move up and down accordingly
We need effective vaccines and cures asap. Simple as that really. If not any progress we make will keep being lost as we have to take steps back.
