Its the last day for supoorters to renew their Rocks season tickets. At lunch time tommorow sale will be thrown open to fans. Supporters can renew their ticket at £190 whereas fans can see their price being £250. There is good news though. The franchise has saved money by outsourcing the admin of season ticket sales to a 3rd party company which means that along with the increase in ticket price the Franchise is happy to introduce a 6% admin fee to further fleece the fans.

They may have had to raise the price more if they kept the management of ticket sales internally as they'd need to pay someone's salary.

Generally, I would think businesses are started to increase their prices to claw back some lost costs, or for the future, if they are going to need more money to sustain a business. This might be the case at Glasgow.?

There really should be a law that stops unavoidable admin fees. if everyone has to pay 6%, it should be included in the advertised price.

Ticket price £20 - service fee, charges, postage - actual cost £32....

Ticket price £20 - service fee, charges, postage - actual cost £32.... Its a business model use to scam the purchaser out of money by letting the Franchise charge more. Here we see Duncan Disorderly increase ticket prices this season and charge £190 for supporters and £250 for fans. He does shift the blame of the extra charge of £11 and £15 per adult ticket by saying thats the booking companys money. He chose the company to save himself some money but is quite willing to pass that charge onto us. If he wants to charge £250 a ticket then charge that. Dont charge £265 and say it doesnt all count because its not all his.

Scorchers did the same thing last year. Moved the booking to Eventbrite which put the cost of a ticket up by 20% but still kept the same headline ticket price. As Hershey says - the quoted price should be required to include all unavoidable fees by law. Anything else is just misrepresentation.

Agreed. Things like postage should only be added if there's an option to collect. It's something we deliberately avoided with Leopards (it seems strange writing in the past tense ) as it gives people the hump.

Forgive me for being dumb but reading the original post I though immediately that it was taking the pee. Now that the ordinal poster has deleted themselves I'm even more curious.

Initial post not a wind up to some extent.
Renewal of season ticket for an adult is £190, plus an additional 6%.
For new season tickets it’s £250 plus an additional 6%
All benefits of having a season ticket have been removed, except 10% off merch. It seems in order to get the other benefits you also have to join this new OSC, which is a bit of a farce. If you join or are involved with the OSC then Duncan classes you as a supporter. Anything else he classes you as a fan, less important. That’s the impression he has given in an interview.
It’s like playing NBA2k on the PlayStation. Buy the initial game but to actually enjoy it to full potential you need lots of micro transactions.

We don't get much at Scorchers (although our tickets are very cheap) so interested in what else is offered.

Off the top of my head you used to get bring a friend vouchers, discount on kids basketball camp places and access/discounted access to events. There was probably more but it’s been a few years since I had a season ticket! It seems they’ve replaced access to events using a season ticket with access to events only ran for OSC members, which is a bit unusual going by other OSCs I have seen or been a part of. Even being part of the ice hockey OSC (which is a fairly big OSC) events are open to all.
Appreciate things like fan events may not necessarily run this season though. I guess we have to wait to and see for that.
