Kevin Ware. Probably most famously known for his horrendous shin fracture in the NCAA tournament on a close out at the top of the key!

Very happy with this, looks a quality guard. I'd warn everyone not to look at the picture of his injury!!

As horrific as that injury looks/looked its actually a pretty standard come back so he will be just as good as before

Nice signing.
I expect he knows Jets new signing Devin Mitchell very well from their time together at Georgia State.

Reasonable signing, but am not massively impressed by his Finnish stats.
However, his being related to ex-Worthing standout Marlin Capers is interesting.

His college career really wasn't that special. Played a pretty minor role at Louisville and didn't exactly light up the Sun Belt Conference. He has been a reasonably productive player in some good/decent pro leagues. I'm actually a little surprised they've used their final US slot on what is probably a backup guard when they appear to have a more pressing need elsewhere. Presumably they have a Brit or European lined up to start at the 4.
In other news, Josh Ward-Hibbert has now been confirmed as Lions continue their quest to sign every single basketball player on the planet. They'll have more players than the rest of the league combined in a week or two. They're gonna have to let the rest of us sign a few if they want to have any chance of playing games this year.

Let’s not forget Tony Hicks from Surrey a couple of seasons back. Came out of Louisville, probably playing a smaller role than this guy. He went on to be the league MVP.. so I very much doubt this guy will be playing a backup PG.
My bet is he will play the 2 spot, with Robinson playing 1, liggins/Williams at 3&4 and the 5 spot up for grabs between Bristol and Okoroh. I would say that’s the strongest 5 the league has seen for some time. On paper anyway, but let’s see how they gel.
Great to see Lions taking the European competition seriously.

Definitely an interesting signing. Purely for the fact that it's very rare that any team signs an American we've heard of. Looking forward to seeing how they run when they finally finish signing players. You have to feel like they're going to be bringing in a top quality 4 meaning one of Ware, Williams and Liggins will be coming off the bench. All of which makes it slightly surprising that Josh chose to move to London. Can see why with the lure of Europe and being part of what is on paper going to be the strongest team in the league. But for a player in his position to move to a team where you feel like at best he's going to be the 4th forward seems an interesting choice.
Will have to see how their current bigs do. Will certainly be strong defensively. You could definitely make the argument they are the best tandem at the 5 in recent years. Could also make the argument they are not the best pair currently announced for next season though!

I would say that’s the strongest 5 the league has seen for some time. On paper anyway, but let’s see how they gel. Great to see Lions taking the European competition seriously. Let's not forget Nate Britt who played steady minutes for a better program, won a national championship and has barely been heard from since. I'm not saying Ware is a bad signing. He's done enough as a pro to suggest he could be decent. I just don't get why people are gushing over a college career that wasn't really that special. Personally I think Robinson, Williams and Liggins are the most likely starters 1-3, with Ware serving as a 6th man and primary backup at both guard spots. But I certainly could be wrong. Lions are gonna have 3-4 options at every spot at this rate so it is quite difficult to project. I think Bristol and Okoroh split most of the minutes at the 5, with Bristol the more likely starter given his vastly greater experience. And I don't think they've announced their starting 4 yet. I like that they appear to have emphasised length and defense at the 5 spot. I definitely think that's the right approach. And Walker adds some much needed shooting to their front court. But they've still not got a guy over 6'6" who's much of a scorer. Can't imagine it's gonna stay that way. They are for sure going to be the strongest BBL team on paper for a long time. They look to be playing a completely different game financially to the rest of us. I do think it's starting to feel a bit like overkill though. If it's affordable/sustainable then why not I guess but I think some of these guys are going to feel a bit short-changed minutes-wise. Particularly if they don't even have a domestic schedule to play alongside their European fixtures.

Really interested to see how Vince manages this as a coach, he’s given himself a really tough job but I respect it. I’d have gone for 8 major signings and JI and AL and sign the 2/3 most talented u20s in britain I could if I wanted to do well in Europe and the bbl but I’m excited/interested to see how he makes this group work!
