I’ve seen today that Netball leagues can resume from 26/09/20. This includes indoor fixtures.
Can we expect to hear something similar for basketball? I’ve heard that BE and the BBL are pushing for October but no official word?

I’ve heard that BE and the BBL are pushing for October but no official word? I assume you are referring to grassroots netball I took a look at the Netball Superleague Their season started in February and was due to end in early July They face perhaps an even tougher financial challenge than basketball as their teams had only played 3 games when they had to take the decision to cancel the season So both season ticket holders and sponsors have more or less lost a full season and so will be a bigger rollover impact on them when they do restart. They made it clear when they cancelled the season that behind closed doors games were not financially viable for their clubs and they all rely on their own ticketed revenue to function. Although they get sky tv coverage I don't believe it's any kind of significant revenue producer for them The superleague don't appear to have any plans to start again until 2021 earliest. There was mention in May of having an Autumn standalone tournament to keep the game relevant and in the spotlight but nothing since From what you can read of the future for them it's also tough as the team's appear to be nearly all University based and also rely on University funding which they are concerned won't be there I saw at least one club started a gofundme page to raise 50k to save the club in June They managed to get 10k in donations so far Elsewhere other team spokespeople vary between saying they need 100k to 500k to fund what they do each year

My reading of the Netball England rules is that all netball can restart from 26/9. This can be at any level and both indoors and outdoors. However fans are not allowed at this stage.
You can either view this as "everyone's going bust" or "great - another step in the right direction" depending on your preferred viewpoint...

Actually I was hoping when I researched what Superleague netball was doing it might point the way for BBL. And was kicking myself for not taking a look before. Very similar sports and challenges to overcome. Two entirely different debates for netball and basketball to both face together The first is getting grassroots in their sports up and running again The second is getting the top league in UK for each sport up and running again I guess timings very different though Basketball would like to start with spectators asap as we are now near the normal season start Netball has ruled out starting this year and hoping to be ok for their normal start times next year of Feb/March BBL can't follow what Superleague netball does unless we want to wait til 2021. Superleague can learn a lot from what BBL basketball does though the next few months.
