I’m a casual NBA fan so not sure if this has legs but if I could put the following 5 Lakers on the floor, in their prime:
Magic Johnson
Kobe Bryant
LeBron James
Karl Malone
Shaq
what line up, from the rest of the NBA universe would you put against them and who wins?
if only Jordan had been a Laker .......

I'd replace Malone and Shaq with Kareem Abdul-Jabar & Jerry West, who both made a much larger contribution to Lakers over many years.

The point of your post was not for us to dissect your team but Malone stands out as not belonging in a Laker Jersey.
However I would go with the following -
Pippen
Jordan
Durant
Barkley
Olajuwan
Picked specifically to combat your teams size

Appreciate that Malone did very little for Lakers, I’m aware of Jerry West ( the logo) but what position did he play - I’d imagined he was more guard orientated rather than a PF ?
I grew up watching Shaq so he had to be in however great Kareem may have been.
Connors, aren’t you lacking a point? Or would Pippen / Jordan be able to the job? In a best of 7, you think your guys would win? Would be an awesome watch either way.
Can any other franchises put up a team like the Lakers?

Pippen would be the de facto PG and would also lock down Magic like 1990.

Just been reading up on Magic v Pippen
Think it was the 1991 finals you refer to, Bulls first championship and Magic’s final season.
Reads like Pippen did a reasonable job on him although Magic still recorded 2 triple doubles and matched his season long stats for pts, reb & assists

Not sure where Baylor would fit in.
He’s before my time, so I have only read about him and seen the odd YouTube clip but I have him as a SF (?) and that has to be LeBron in my team. I’m less interested in contribution to the Lakers, just have to had worn the jersey.
Most vulnerable of my team is Malone, but who would replace him?
