Well it was nice to get a win. Liggins a completely different level, possibly the best defender I've seen in the BBL & his passing is superb. Ware finally played some team basketball & looked like he could make an impression on the BBL. Even all the months of training, Williams is still learning his role. Despite all the signings, due to injuries and lack of quality, Lions are completely lacking in the front court, there is no offensive presence & clumsy defence. That needs to change & quickly. Riders on Sunday will be very difficult. Sharks look a more balanced team than they have for a few years but I do wonder if Nick Lewis playing well is the difference between them winning or losing. Today he had 0 points & 5 fouls, I'm very disappointed I couldn't be there to point that out to the Sharks bench! That’s the formula for sharks pretty much, if u contain Lewis it’s half the job done

Lions were much better tonight, but still not as good as they should be (and need to be). For me this group in the Cup is going to 2 battles... Newcastle and Leicester fighting for the top spot, and London and Sheffield fighting to avoid an early exit from the competition. Fortunately Lions have the H2H win should it be needed. I’m hoping Lions continue to improve so they do better in the Championship and Trophy competitions.

Mullens back in the States and has been for a week or two... I’m assuming he will reappear after Christmas but nothing has been said. Understand his partner is pregnant so that might explain it.

Unless Tuck has one of his better days I guess, McKnight is more of a distributor than scorer so if Lewis is quiet whose getting the points?

I’d forgotten Vince had agreed that Mullens could return to the US for the birth of his child... maybe he’s agreed he can return home a little earlier now that the Europe games don’t start until January.

Despite all the signings, due to injuries and lack of quality, Lions are completely lacking in the front court, there is no offensive presence & clumsy defence. That needs to change & quickly. Vehemently disagree. Robinson, Williams, Ware and Liggins are enough offense to win every game you play without exception. All you need from everyone else is defense, rebounds, and a willingness to accept that role. That last part is absolutely crucial. In every team there is a hierarchy, partly established by the coach, partly by the players themselves. Everyone needs to know where the money is when you need a basket, and when it is and isn't ok for them to take a shot. If I was Liggins and I saw Lockhart gunning threes every time he touched the ball, they would be upheaval and rightfully so. As long as Lions get this bit right, and stay healthy, their name should be on all 4 trophies this season.

At present we have no inside players scoring and they're hardly doing much better at rebounding. Absolutely no 2nd chance inside points claimed from the big men & we're fouling more than rebounding at the defensive end.

Yeah that’s a pretty poor take in my opinion, no matter the talent you have you’re gonna be a lot worse off with no inside scoring presence

Lions keeping MBA rather than this Fahro guy might have been a better option

You guys are nuts. Even in the NBA, at the very most a team will have 3 scorers, Lions already have 4, and you think they can't win unless they sign a 5th who can play inside?
Wish we had that many scoring options. Just look what happens to our game when Lewis doesn't turn up!

I’d say it’s nuts to think having an inside scoring presence is an unneeded luxury, to each their own They may have 4 scorers but they all overlap positionally, and what happens when the shots aren’t falling? You go to your post threat and let him create something It’s actually such a poor take and doubling down on it is laughable

Not to mention that since Mullens has been gone they’re 1-3 and none of these perimeter guys have found any consistency
