Seems Lions have released Kervin Bristol... saintpat has also stated this BUT there's nothing to confirm it from what I can see? Pat has challenged Lions to confirm but they haven't. His picture is still on the Lions roster page on their website where there's also no confirmation of him leaving. Mind you there's been nothing posted on the site since Monday! Perhaps they're trying to make Eagles think he might be a possibility. A bit like us not confirming whether Rex will be fit or not for tonight's game. Wait and see is always the call!

It’ll be Vince playing games, bet he rocks up

Normally I would have paid to watch this game, however since it seems that I am forced to watch it in real time, I will not pay to watch only half of it, after the Sharks vs Riders match ends.
Perhaps Eagles should re-think this.

Perhaps Eagles should re-think this. If Sharks/Riders tips at 6pm, and Eagles/Lions tips at 7:30pm I think you'll only miss the first quarter... but nevertheless you do have a valid point. On a related note it's frustrating YouTube live streams don't have a 'watch from start' option. Instead you have to wait until the stream has finished before you can watch it (if you don't want to start mid-way through). But at least you can catch up afterwards, unlike the Eagles streams.

but they did confirm they have signed another player and he will debut tonight. How many have been announced now as Lions - have they got enough in their announced squad now to play a Lions 1 and Lions 2 game with decent bench size on both teams?

But whether we can actually win those games is another question.

Great game so far... London had the edge on Q1 and Eagles had the edge in Q2. Tied at 47-47 at HT, all to play for. Game of the night so far.

61-69 at 3/4 - London well ahead in Q3 so Eagles need a heck of a Q4 !

Eagles can’t hit a shot and badly missing Pfluegler’s defence. Ultimately London’s depth winning this one.

I don't want to only post with criticisms so I just wanted to drop in to say the stream was good. I enjoyed the commentary, natural and they knew their stuff, and no major issues with the footage. If you're in two minds about paying for a game, I'd say Eagles delivered, and I was happy with what I got in return for my £5 going into the BBL ecosystem.

Solid performance from the Lions. Agree that the coverage was very good and £5 well spent

Even uncle Jeff said it on his commentary eagles lost the plot in the 4th but if you can’t make any threes you ain’t going to be competitive

Agreed good informative Eagles coverage by Jeff and Dave - pity the second half wasn't the same standard !

I think that showed (a) what an important role Pfluegler plays in this new Eagles set-up and (b) that Eagles are a starter-level player short.. And that London are improving.

If you’d have told me at HT that Lions were going to win by 20 points I’d have said that wasn’t a representative score of the game... but after watching the second half I’d say it was. Poor performance by Eagles, missing shot after shot, I mean, only making 3 of 27 three point attempts!?
Lions slowly improving playing as a team too. Good to see Robinson well and truly back on form. And good performances from Williams and Liggins too. Tonight’s results might have just secured a quarter finals spot for Lions.
Coverage was good. And I’ve decided Eagles have the best looking empty arena, followed by Riders.

I have to say that at half-time neither Dave or I saw the second half coming. Eagles without Rex had done well to be level at the half especially with the 3-point shooting they had. Fletch keeping them in the game as he dropped dime after dime off. Evan and Justin doing well against a solid Lions defence marshalled by the outstanding Liggins. Darius having a big second quarter when he used his experience to exact something inside.
But it always felt that Lions were clicking more and more into gear as the game went on. Ware played team ball, Williams was exceptional in the third, Robinson came alive and Liggins just powered on and on and really lead the team superbly.
Lions simply didn't give Eagles any easy shots inside or out although most of their best looks were from outside but they couldn't get them to drop. Cortez was well guarded all game and not really a factor and Darius went from zero fouls to five in the second half. Sure there were a few calls that could have gone Eagles way but a 20-point defeat at the end of the day is down to the way the two teams played and nothing else.
Thought Justin G stuck at it hard all night and Fletch tried his best to rally his troops but in truth Eagles collapsed in the final period. I also thought Chris Taiwah had a huge game for Lions and was a real factor inside and Parker got better as the game went on and confidence grew. I think he was trying to force it and make too much of an impression early on.
Lions will be well pleased with their night's work. It could hardly have gone better for them especially restricting the Eagles second half. For Eagles it was a case of shots not dropping, missing Rex and not being able to stem Lions or find answers to London's excellent second half defence and display.
What I will say is from what I've seen Leicester, London and Newcastle are genuine contenders this season and I can see all three making the semi-finals from the quarters. But, it's still early days and there's a lot of water to flow under all the franchises bridges. What the Cup is showing is that the league season is going to be really entertaining and interesting.

Have you had a message from Doddsy yet, that was so funny on your commentary 😁 Cortez has been impressive so far, maybe he just had an off night, he wasn’t the only one

An excellent summary, nearly as good as the commentary & stream, which was easily worth £5.

must also help that Lions can go see deep - 11players involved versus 8 then throw in 26pts of the bench v 14pts
