I am going to get my daughter a basketball for Christmas. She is quite a small eight year old. She likes basketball but she doesn't actually own a basketball yet so she's been playing with a netball. We only play on outside courts.
Could you good people please recommend the size and make of basketball I should get her? Is there a big difference between a brand and a cheaper make?

For playing outside id go for around £4 from your local sports shop

Probably need a size 4, certainly no bigger than a 5. Whether you can get that in sports shop is questionable, but I certainly wouldn't spend much as it'll be wrecked by the end of the winter.

As Hersey says. I coach kids her age and size 4s are tricky to come by (Baden do a yellow one). Size five will see her through to u12 level too.
