My God. Hes insufferable.
I was sceptical when I heard him speak when he took over because its just one empty cliche after another, but good god its hard work this interview. Kudos for Sam for even bothering....

That was painful, i really felt for Sam. Interviewing someone who won't answer is pretty soul destroying (Atiba always used to be fun), especially if you don't have to. i wouldn't have blamed him if he'd developed "technical problems" after ten minutes and binned it. There's plenty of other people to talk to. Even if i've started interviewing myself. i guess he could have edited it down, but he let Edwards make a tit of himself. My only criticism would be the idea that the two versions of Giants are one club. They're absolutely not. Whatever happened with the original club had nothing to do with the current one. Edwards tried to gloss over the whole "trying to buy the franchise in the 90s" because it was clearly nothing more than an idea in his mind. Clearly the Cook group weren't willing to sell when they doing well, and they still didn't talk to him on the way out. It's like we saying I tried to marry Kylie, when in fact i never even had her number. That he didn't even know that a new Giants started in 2012 is pretty telling. the refusal to say who else was involved in Giants' ownership was just odd, and raised more questions that it answered. i didn't listen to it all, i gave up when he said "librarians of the game" four times in a minute. That was a decent snapshot of the interview - he said a lot of words without saying anything worth hearing. Who knows? He might end up being the greatest club owner there's ever been, but he didn't do himself any favours with that interview. |

This was fantastic. He's the David Brent of the BBL. I was hoping Sam was going to follow up on his statement of having a shoe deal..
then I was glad he didn't give the guy the satisfaction of asking.

Just watched (but mainly fast-feeded because of the insufferable drawl of Marriot  ) another edition of the BBL Show.
Apparently (sans sarcasm) Marriot loves Edwards. Says it all about the pair of them... |

Apparently (sans sarcasm) Marriot loves Edwards. Says it all about the pair of them... I watched that edition of The BBL Show too... I honestly don't know what to think of Edwards. On the one hand he seems overly confident and thinks too much of himself, but on the other hand you can't argue that since he took over Giants have been a better team and organisation than they've been in years. As for Jay Marriot, is it just the drawl of his accent that you find insufferable? in which case that's a little unfair. |

His pronouncements are out of proportion to his achievements. And his constant, incessant, unending repetition of the 'nickname' "McSwaggan" - it wasn't clever or remotely amusing the first time Marriott said it, never mind he is now onto, perhaps, 30 or so times he's said it |

Maybe through his Plymouth connections mrtall can ask Pablo to ask that guy with the Manchester connections he talks to on his podcast to ask Edwards to appear on Pablo's podcast to clarify matters, or at least to tell a story to the guy who talks to Pablo, so that Pablo, or even the guy he talks to with the Manchester connections (if not Edwards himself), can tell us on his (Pablo's) podcast.
If you have lost track of who is asked to talk to who in the paragraph above, that's OK because that will make it easier for Edwards to continue to be evasive.
