I see Kobe passed a year ago today.
Why BE need to put it on their socials though is strange? Yep he was a major US star but all the fawning by the nations governing body is a bit cringe isn’t it? Considering how hard it is to get any proper info out of them?

Hmmmm not sure I agree with this - I think you have a point when you mention how poor their communication usually is yet they're able to mark the anniversary of his passing on time, perhaps that basic level of respect, organisation and communication should be offered to its members. But that's a different discussion, you have to remember Kobe was a hero to many of those people, perhaps even the reason why some of them got into the sport, so I think it's relevant and correct of BE to acknowledge it. I'm a huge motorsport fan and my childhood was dominated by the unrivalled brilliance of Michael Schumacher, I think I would feel a little aggrieved if the Keep Fighting Michael message was dropped when he was such a big part of why I got into the sport.

Vanessa Bryant asked for his life to be celebrated, rather than his death, which the tweet clearly doesn't do. But on a list of 1-100 things wrong with BE, I think it ranks about #427

I agree DTB. Great player who certainly softened his image after retirement. Not something that BE should be focusing on.

Basketball England just don't do themselves any favours.
When I search on YouTube for the latest NBL matches, Garbo podcasts often pop up as suggested viewing.
Most of these podcasts have been very entertaining, but, as so often with BE, the quality of product compared to the quality of publicising the product is just awful. Can't imagine much more than a couple of hundred people have watched each podcast.

What I liked about Kobe Bryant the basketballer was that any game he played in usually felt like it mattered. He always competed and his hard nosed obsessive approach gave opponents an edge as well. He always seemed to be a story waiting to happen as a played so even though I was not a massive fan I liked his games.
I did not like him much for lots of reasons when he was playing but having seen his documentary and read about him I find myself admiring his relentless work ethic and toughness....his sheer bloody mindedness! In terms of mentality and style he is certainly the closest to Jordan in my opinion.
What I struggle with a bit is this out pouring of love from players like Lebron and AD which to be honest comes across a little fake to me. I may be wrong and each to their own but a year after his death Kobe is certainly still getting clicks for all the basketball websites for sure......

Did the TG pod mention the St Valentine's Day Massacre where he departed from Scotland, Rocks and GB? If not, I can't see the point in even doing it, it's a pivotal moment in his career. But if someone gives up after two minutes they still get the view, so job's done

Not sure what the issue is. Every basketball outlet in the world is paying tribute to the man on the anniversary of his death. Including federations..
BE are ****e. But let's be fair.

BE love Americans. They tweeted happy birthday to Michael Jordan earlier for some reason. But then deleted it.
Strange people at BE

i don't think their social media really knows what it's supposed to be (no pun intended). Presumably whoever posted MJ's birthday was then told to take it off. Why the person who posts doesn't know what s/he is supposed to be covering. It's MJ i feel for
