In terms of thread titles this is All-Star level 😂
In terms of level of signing....underwhelming. Appreciate he’s been part of Creon’s bubble (who hasn’t?) But Surrey could do with more than someone who’s never averaged more than 4PPG in this league

Yeah the title of this thread is better than the signing. 100% agree there.
Dean's solid enough, but he's not going to give Surrey what they need. Certainly not what a fully motivated Skylar White gave them even.

What the Scorchers need is a Power Forward with BBL level stats of around 15ppg, 8rpg, 1.5bpg, 1.5apg and who can step outside and hit about 3 three pointers per game at around 40%.
My guess is Lovell Cook's days are numbered. He is effectively behind Evan Walshe in the rotation. I think he may not have even appeared on court in the first period of a couple of recent games.
Wanliss is short term. Tayo is playing the PF with Wanliss backing him up. Rickman and Richards interchange and won't be on court together. Imagine if MBA had joined, three to rotate one spot!
Effectively it's a team with two big men who can't play together, so I'd assume that an import Power Forward is on the way, but not the type that trends towards being a Centre.
Obviously lots of problems with the team, but from a balance perspective it's hard to imagine once Wanliss departs they really would continue with just the two bigs who can only really interchange.

Not much of a surprise that Lovell Cook has been released, it was more a case of whether it was before or after this weekends games. A replacement (which I assume will happen) just has to be Power Forward. No other position makes any sense. Whilst there is a player available with the above stat line, I can confidently say he won't be heading to Surrey. Just wondering if TrayVonn is fit yet and whether that could be the planned move? To have any chance of salvaging the season they need to find a PF who will play at league MVP level (I don't mean TrayVonn). But even if they did, I think there are some bigger underlying problems that mean it wouldn't make any significant difference. The benefit of TrayVonn ofcourse would be it at least allows everybody to play in their preferred positions. I think the pre-season positional recruiting was wrong, and is a factor in how the season has panned out.
