Thanks youngrocks Cheers Some great nostalgia in this interview. Hadn't realised that Murray had such a humble start in basketball and that he began with Rocks as a result of a Kelvin Hall trial  And his first season featured the likes of Yanders, Swanson, (Lijah) Perkins & (fleetingly) Charles Smith  And I was intrigued to hear about his filler jobs such as hotel work & in British Home Stores (I probably dined in there at some point (probably shepherds pie and a pudding with custard))  And I also remember what a pit Kelvin Hall was - I trekked all the way up there (or at least I was in the passenger seat being chauffeured by my driver) to watch Birmingham Bullets in a 90s pre-season tournament and was actually dozing off in the early hours when I was awoken by the news of the Princess Diana car-crash. |
