Any interest in the article on talks being at an advanced stage between BBL and 777 partners for a 45% stake in the league.
Potential to work? Work for a few years then collapse as basketball in Britain has “had potential” since I was a teenager?
Will there be issues between what the league would want to do and the league not having full control of all the venues?
777 partners having that much input into the league but also vested interest in Lions?
As long as they don’t come in and at some point think there is a better tv deal somewhere else. Can’t make that mistake again, it needs to stay on Sky Sports.
Thoughts?

BBL's social media hardly sets thexworld alight now, put 777 in charge & it'll be non-existent! And they won't want to be told!😉

Has this deal got any legs to it or was it all just talk?
It did say that funding would not go to individual teams and would be spent on branding for the bbl.
I couldn’t help but notice in the semi final games that the court and the surrounding back drops looked very nice and shiny and new.
Surely the bbl hasn’t spent COVID bail out money and such luxuries?

Surely the bbl hasn’t spent COVID bail out money and such luxuries? From what I've heard the 777 deal is still on the table and under discussion. Regarding transforming the Morningside Arena for 'May Madness'... remember using the Morningside Arena will be a fraction of the cost of The O2, which was originally planned. Also the back drops are the same ones used in Newcastle and Worcester - just hung up rather than draped over the crowd seating, so they're getting good use from them. They also feature advertising, along with the courtside electroclinic advertising boards, which the BBL can charge more for this season as there's more eyeballs on them. And finally there's money from the Sky Sports deal too. So, as is often the case, I doubt the BBL are actually making money from this 'May Madness' showcase, but I doubt they're getting into debt either.

The Morninside arena was very well presented, in many ways similar to the Disney arena used by the NBA last summer.
Professional presentation looks better, and gives a better image of the sport and event, which will help retain the current sponsors, and make the sport more attractive to potentil new sponsors.
All involved at the BBL and Morningside arena should take pride from their efforts.
