Well that went wrong in a hurrry! Well done Sharks, Nichols was the difference in the second half and Helmsley was impressive throughout. Sharks have the head to head, been a long time since I had to type that....

The league was done this week, tonight’s just confirmed it

2 fouls in the first 4 minutes messed up Nicols in first half and Lyons played Jones toooo much ans sat Lillard at the same time so we lost out on possessions and offense so we go in down 9 at half
Second half we have proper rotations and win easily as Newcastles heads go down
They missed Gordon big time

Lack of depth highlighted again tonight. Never felt comfortable even going in 9 up at half time. I think Defoe was playing the perfect amount of minutes for us earlier in the season and now with an injury in the frontcourt it puts a huge amount of pressure on him. A few people mentioned the lack of depth up top at the start of the season and it's come to fruition now.

Well played Sheffield, they have improved massively since the first quarter of the season and look a better team without Lewis in the lineup in my opinion. Ratinho and Hemsley look a better fit.

However, it's frustrating that Eagles seemed to stop doing what was effective in the first half with Maxwell going missing in action.

Well, Leicester will be happy tonight and Sheffield should be too. The league isn’t over but it is for Eagles.

Unless Gordon is back in action quickly Eagles will have only the play offs to go for. The league is over and without Gordon I don’t rate their chances in London on Monday.

I was very critical of the refereeing last week against Sheffield but not tonight. Eagles just ran out of steam and out of ideas. There seems to be no decent half court offence if teams close down the transition game and stop Maxwell. No shots of screens worth mentioning and poor spacing. Surely that’s an issue for Coach to address urgently. And not sure why you blow a 10 point lead in Q3 without calling. TO and then call 2 in the last minute when 15 down.......

Sheffield better without Lewis and limiting Koch minutes. Fair play to them - they have adapted better as the season has progressed. Ratinho excellent this evening - 13 rebounds.
