Great appointment if happens, will be interesting to see what else he's doing and if this means yet another 'elite' academy getting launched or whether it will be strictly the pro team. Makes the decision re Danny a lot more understandable if this was lined up.

Lloyd is a very good coach who will definitely improve the Giants team. Hopefully he will get a chance to have continue next season with a fully supported recruitment process.

Now official.
I cant say its a bad appointment on the face of things and I always said Id judge based on what he does rather than what he says - so decent appointment, albeit the timing is really weird for me.
That said, given his little misdemeanors with Companies house and the fact he isnt allowed to be officially a director, as well as rumours that payments to players have been late recently, as well as the no doubt increased arena costs of Belle vue and now the appointment of Gardner on what must surely be a full time basis - I do question where the moneys coming from/if its all built on sand.
Lets see where we are at the start of next season.

A college coach is pretty much always a teacher at the college where the basketball team is part of his/her duties. Unless there was an opening at the college for a teaching role there is no way Lloyd would have coached Oaklands. Hopefully at Giants he is getting a reasonable wage and will be given the chance to set up a junior section.

I know Tom is a sports tutor at Oakland’s but is it a prerequisite for Leopards head coach to be affiliated with Oakland’s now in a teaching capacity? Leopards as we know are now a development team rather than a competitive NBL team (according to Dave) - presumably majority of players have come through the education system there now? Or will be doing so? Genuinely interested.
