Just didn’t get Gonzalo staying in a zone whilst Baylor were taking open 3 after open 3 and hitting them Didn’t get why he left Tim’s on the bench for so long when he hit 4 fouls but were 15 down.

I think Zags were caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. They were getting outplayed inside, beat off the dribble AND killed with 3s. I thought Baylor exploited Timmes defensive weaknesses really well. He is an excellent offensive player with superb footwork but they were exposing his lack of footspeed with high pick and rolls and getting in for those offensive boards. I felt sorry for them. They are clearly an excellent team and if Baylor had not started so hot from outside the whole game pattern could have changed. Baylor were worthy winners though. Better team on the day from what I saw.
Was surprised to read on Hersey's blog that Timme is expected to be a top 5 pick for NBA draft. He is big and skilled but just cannot envisage him playing defense in the modern space and pace NBA.

That was the chatter before the F4, I think Suggs moved past him last weekend. It wasn't Few's best coaching game, like Faz I'd have brought Timme back in earlier. Zags are 0-8 against #1s, I think the West Coast Conference doesn't leave them battle tested enough for the big occasion. That's something they might have to look at in the future. Things might have been different if they'd played Baylor in December. They might have lost their unbeaten record, but might have learned enough to beat the Bears in the final.

Timme is a second rounder. Kispert is the other Zags guy who could go in the lottery.
His game against USC can't have hurt his stock but by all accounts his defence and lack of a 3 point shot will likely keep him in the second round. Not seen enough of him to comment myself, just going on what I've read.

Yeah I've not seen any mock draft that places Timme remotely near the lottery or even the first round of the draft.
He's only a sophomore though so maybe he will return for another year. His athleticism seems to be what drops him down by all reports plus the lack of a really consistent nba 3pt range.

not watched them throughout the season - so don't know if this is their style or was just coincidence the way the final four games went, but I liked the Baylor way in those games.
none of the play yourself into the game and finish hard - start hard, play fast destroy your opponents confidence early and build up a big lead. Then protect your fouls you picked up early and defend the lead and take the win. In the final looked like up till a couple of min to go they were going to lose the 2nd half. In the semi-final they definite lost the 2nd half to Houston and in the quarters if they did not lose it to Arkansas, it was close. Did the damage early, and had depth on the bench to defend a lead with.
As others mentioned, surprised at the foul management by Gonzola and thought Baylor showed how to manage the guys on three or four fouls so much better - but again that seemed to come to they had more confidence in the defence capabilities of the guys coming of the bench
