FFS. 24 turnovers. 24! Started Q3 without Crandall and waited too long b4 calling a timeout to stop Eagles' momentum. Puts Riders under huge pressure. Fletcher was excellent. Gordon was even better

Well done Eagles. Did the job Raiders should’ve and could’ve last weekend.

Yes I thought so too with a disasterous shooting display. A bit of a recovery in q2 then the Eagles team I remember came on for the second half. That was one of the best defensive displays from Eagles that I can remember. So many turnovers and easy buckets, Riders imploded. I did not like the dunk at the end but that is within the rules. Hurling the ball at an opposition player as he walks away from you is not. I like Crandell a lot but he is better than that. Okay, one for the refs out there (because I know nowt ) If Crandell was T'd for that what would have happened? The game was over. More to say but I feel a celebratery rum coming on .

Not sure what Crandall was doing throwing the ball at Gordon at the end Gordon dunked it instead of running down the clock. Wouldn't expect you to recognise sportsmanship tbh Harsh and not true.

Wow, Eagles showed great character to stick with it after that horror show of a first quarter. Really impressive with Gordon looking much more like his old self and Defoe proving how vital he is defensively with a stunning fourth quarter on 4 fouls for most of it. It's so easy to take Fletcher for granted with his usual 20+ points and 8+ assists (couldn't remember exact total), but what he does on a night to night basis is amazing. I can't underestimate what a privilege it has been to watch him play in person over the years.
Interesting to note that Eagles achieved that with Maxwell playing minimal minutes and fouling out with some really soft/dumb fouls. Would be surprised to see him back next year, he's a liability at the defensive end. I also enjoyed Lasker's cameo tonight steadying the ship in the first half.
The double technical that Defoe was involved in seemed a bit daft (without hearing what was said) and is one of my main pet peeves with the way basketball (BBL in particular) is refereed. Surely 2 players walking past each other could be ignored?!?!?
Hope Leicester win the league, thought Rob Paternostro's interview at the end was very classy. Great team and coach.

God, I was so frustrated and down by that defeat but Paternostro's interview cheered me up because he was honest and straight to the point, while heaping well-deserved praise on Eagles. It actually cheered me up.

If anyone finds a wheel, please return it to the Morningside Arena, Think we’re missing one after tonight... Just a bad day at the small town office.

Strange game of basketball. Eagles/Riders games are rarely dominated by either team. Last night both teams did just that. Riders had total authority in the first half and were so comfortable. It was like men against boys. Second half however was the complete opposite and more! Eagles were all over Riders. Both coaches will be scratching their heads on how their teams could be so good and so bad in a short period of time! In the end though I think Eagles were sublime in the second half and deserved the win. Riders probably should have been out of sight at half time and paid the price of not ramming it home in the first half.

Agreed about Maxwell but I was really impressed with Lasker in his few minutes - why on earth doesn’t ‘t he play more ?

Not sure I have yet recovered from that. What an odd game. Full credit to Eagles - terrific second half after looking shot in the first. Have to say that in Q3 it looked to me as though all of the Riders vulnerabilities that have been mentioned over the last few months had been concentrated into a single dose. Now watch this championship come down to the last few seconds of play in the final game. It would be completely characteristic of Riders' season.*
*Nah. They will take the W over Lions.

Not sure if I agree on Maxwell looking disinterested, he looks well short on confidence on the defensive end and always in two minds about what he should be doing. Some of the fouls he he gets called for are super frustrating.
It's disappointing really as I do like his offensive game, he just hasn't improved on defense all season and possibly gone backwards. Either way, something isn't right with him.

Where has Riders 3 point threat disappeared to?, Corey Johnson had 0 attempts in 22 minutes, and Connor attempted 1 three minutes from the end of the game and missed it.

TBF that was one of the few things Eagles did in the game which was faultless - apart from Anderson’s uncontested q1 three and one which Washington would usually have made in q4 Eagles ran Leicester off the 3-line very effectively and their other attempts were largely all contested......which they have just completely failed to do to Glasgow!

Given the amount of attention Geno was drawing Eagles must have been leaving guys open on the perimeter a fair bit. Seemed like any time he got near the paint there were three or four Newcastle defenders in his pocket. Can't commit that many bodies to one player without leaving others open but we sure as hell weren't finding them. I imagine 14 3PA is pretty close to a season low for us. Seemed like we barely even attempted to establish an inside presence either. Thought Eagles completely bossed the paint in the second half. And when you're hardly getting anything high percentage inside and you're not shooting threes I think it's pretty much a given that your offense is going to struggle. Turning the ball over 24 times obviously doesn't help either. And I can barely recall us getting anything easy in transition other than a Geno dunk relatively late on.
Good defensive half from Eagles but we really were hopeless. Offense looked aimless to me and I just don't think we brought the energy you'd expect from a team trying to force a league title across the line. The first five minutes or so in particular, I thought we looked half asleep. Need to find a way to be much, much better on Wednesday. And in the quite likely event that Lions gameplan defensively is built around limiting Geno's effectiveness, we're gonna need to find ways to get other players scoring in a way we didn't in this one. Certainly could do with a performance from Corey who's been rather quiet of late. He's knocked down multiple threes in only three of his last ten appearances. He's been held without a 3PM four times over that stretch and has twice not even attempted a three. This is a guy who was consistently getting up 8-9 triples a game earlier in the season and I reckon a decent number of those were vaguely well contested. Seems to me like he's passing up a lot of the same looks now and trying to create off the dribble which really isn't his game.

Eagles got a grip or denied ball to nelson Henry as well which helped restrict riders offence 2
