Seeing as the Semis and Final are being played in Leicester, it would be nice to open the fan wall up to fans of the teams playing. Wonder if they intend to.

Going to be pretty embarrassing if we get walloped on our own court. Think I'd actually prefer it was at Worcester again.

According to Dan Routledge on last weeks Sunday Night Breakdown the Morningside Arena will be unrecognisable from a TV perspective. I can only assume that SKY will be using drapes etc. To give it a more neutral feel.

There’s not a lot more cringeworthy in the world than a video fan wall

There’s not a lot more cringeworthy in the world than a video fan wall Your refusal to acknowledge Lions' winning run is on par. How quiet you've gone...

When Leicester's Morningside Arena was used for the Cup final it was 'tarted up' for the event, and efforts were made to make it look like it wasn't Leicester home arena, but it was still very clearly Leicester's home arena. Don't get me wrong, the BBL made it look good for TV, but I wouldn't say it was unrecognisable so anyone familiar with the court will still have an advantage. And that's not even taking into account travel. Having said all that, it's been a strange season, and I still give the BBL and all those involved credit for completing a full season of basketball for us to enjoy (at home).

Without fans and being dressed as a finals arena I don't think home court plays much of role

'Unrecognisable' is about right. Certainly has a neutral look to it, for whatever that's worth. Playing in our own building probably does still give us a small advantage. If the boot was on the other foot I'd be moaning but I don't think it's that much of a game changer without crowds. And given that we won the league and finished six games above Eagles in the process, you could argue some small advantage has been earned. It's a lot less strange and a lot less unfair than some of the things that have happened in European football this season. Two legged ties played out exclusively at a neutral venue WITH an away goals rule in effect. Ties where one team plays their home leg at their actual stadium and the other team plays theirs in a foreign country. Given the circumstances I think the BBL has managed to get a relatively normal season in. And the league has got some decent exposure in the process. And Riders have regained their rightful perch atop the British basketball pyramid. All in all, I'd say it's been a success.

Presumably the teams have been given ample (even) time to train on the courts?

I think you can safely assume that isn't the case. The idea that changing tbe logo on the ends Riders' massive advantage by playing both legs of a semi final at home is laughable

Lions are already in Leicester and get to shoot around for a bit tomorrow. I assume it's the same for the other two away sides.

Don't think anyone has argued that a bit of redecorating eliminates whatever home court advantage currently exists. The significance of that advantage, under current conditions, is the point of contention. FWIW the away side has won four of the six meetings between Riders and Eagles this season. Maybe we should ship this stuff a few hundred miles up the road and give Newcastle the massive advantage instead.
