A brilliant first quarter overshadowed by three mediocre ones.
We’ve blown huge leads way too often this season. Is it fitness? Is it mentality?
Gotta learn to control the game better if we want to go all the way.

Fletcher is so tough though 34 point game. I agree with the view that he’s sometimes overlooked and taken for granted just because he’s been doing what he’s been doing for so long.

Ok so let’s look objectively. The first three quarters Newcastle were poor. Terrible shooting, passing , rebounding , the lot. Amateur hour. But what a fourth quarter. So why the difference? Well they sure stepped up but Leicester really fell away. Fletcher is just top drawer and it’s set up for a great second leg. But I wouldn’t bet money on Newcastle.

Well, possibly because Maxwell sat on the bench through most of that quarter. Leicester have worked him out & he is a liability against them.

Q1 terrible, q2 better, q3 could not hit a barn door, q4 and it's time for the Rahmon Fletcher show. I make that pretty much honours even at two quarters each and both teams still very much in it. Why not bet money on Newcastle? Looking forward to Thursday night immensely.

Think it was odd not to play Washington more earlier while Johnson was turning the ball over several times. Eagles won't be caught out so easily in Q1 next game. Lee was fantastic but Crandall in Q4 melted away a little. Fletcher showed why he could be league MVP. Got to try to defend against him even better than tonight.

Interesting +/- stats - basically all Eagles starting five either zero (Sayers) or positive, so it was just the bench (and especially Maxwell) that leaked the loss - basically the starters cancelled out the dreadful first quarter at the end.
Eagles need someone other than Fletch and Gordon to step up offensively in the return match - surely not too much to ask. And to keep Maxwell off the floor.

Wow how many years can Fletch keep up this level of brilliance?

These playoffs are proving to be really exciting. Just watched the other semi and that was terrific. McGill is something special but so is Liggins!

Liggins is either super special or a super sulk. Both can swing a game.

Still don’t know what’s going on with eagles lack of bench output

Liggins is either super special or a super sulk. Both can swing a game. Tonight he was a bit of both...and got a triple double! Shocking shooting, but I really enjoyed the game. That last shot.....wow . What odds of an Eagles, Raiders final?

Crazy game. Absolutely crazy. I'm not sure either team will be particularly happy with it. Momentum with Eagles maybe, but with gaps between games I always think that is something of a myth.

BTW an anyone explain to me the Crandell-Defoe double technical? They were about 40 feet from each other at the time butclearly Ive missed something? suspect there is only person who can answer that for us - it did seem a bizarre one at the time and threw the commentary team as well the technical on Fletcher also appeared to come out the blue - think need to ask same person looking on the positive side, we were left talking about the crazyness of how the game played out. If any of these 3 techs then led to one of these guys leaving on a 2nd T or a T +U at some point, might have been a different conversation about this game.

BTW an anyone explain to me the Crandell-Defoe double technical? They were about 40 feet from each other at the time butclearly Ive missed something? Looked back at the recording last night, Fletch had the ball dribbling across the top of Riders key and Geno tried to move towards him but was blocked by Defoe for at least two seconds whilst still moving. Geno reacted whilst still being held by Defoe, but nothing called until the play had gone down the other end.

Sky should probably display an aggregate score above the game score..

Sky should probably display an aggregate score above the game score.. If it helps, they're level at the half.

Loving some of the comments on the YouTube chat - my particular fave being the Einstein basketball kit who has loftily opined that “it’s not as good as the NBA”.........

Sky should probably display an aggregate score above the game score.. Surely you can add one on to Riders score. Fully capable. Again, because I follow the BBL and understand it's an aggregate system. Those stumbling across basketball on sky sports by accident however will have no idea it's an aggregate game unless they watched from the very begining.
