Three pointers killed us tonight at both ends. We couldn’t buy one all game, maybe we could have tried Falzon, Fletcher was a absolute monster tonight, Congratulations Eagles on a fully deserved victory, I’d now love to see them go on and win this competition Let’s not forget one important point...........Playoffs is just a end of season bonus competition.....Being the League Champions is the cream of the crop  |

was impressed with Eagles tonight - it looked at one point the foul count from 'arm locks' could come back to bite, but nope those guys adapted and showed variety and character.
Riders were a surprise and thought there would be a plan B when the 3 was letting them down, but other than trips to the charity stripe there was not a replacement for those missed shots - Eagles d and coaching must take so much of the credit for disrupting them.
as we have seen all season - anything can happen on Sunday, which makes for strong interest in tuning in to watch.

Congrats to Eagles and commiserations to Riders- I’d certainly prefer to have met them in the final as our oldest and fiercest “small town” rivals.
Did I hear Vince right after their win that he played all 12 against Raiders just to confuse Davef ? If so, please keep confusing him Dave !

I suspect that he’s completely pissed off with the standard of refereeing in the BBL, and it’s got inside his mindspace. He certainly didn’t look at all happy during last night’s second leg. |

Being a masochist I re-watched the game today and it was painful BUT I think Riders played well apart from terrible 3 point shooting. The 4th foul for DNH was key. We were getting back towards levelling the score and it stopped our momentum in its tracks. No shame for Riders, just disappointing to have one of our worst 3 point shooting games of the season in a tight, critical game.

I think that hits it square-on. No team can really expect to win a highly competitive game with shooting stats like that. And that encouraging run in Q4 just got stopped in its tracks by that foul call.

What was I saying about fourth quarter meltdowns...
Really enjoyed the game but was puzzled by Riders tactics. Threes were not dropping while 21 out of 23 made 2 pointers were in the paint. Their forwards were dominating ours so why persist with the three? Having said that, when Eagles got in the groove they were pretty much unplayable. Another Rahmon Fletcher masterclass but this time with support, now for Sunday.
