Worthing the new Solent? I hear Orlan is first of many. Where they get the cash from is a mystery. I doubt he's on nearly as much ££ as he was at Solent. Thunder don't have to outbid Solent, realistically the only clubs they were competing with are TVC, Reading and Hemel. He has a job, so he's not going to travel further than that, and he's too intelligent to wait for a figure that he's not going to get.

So Orlan joins Worthing. Thunder fans should be very happy. Solent fans should wonder if there's ever going to be any announcements about next season. They will sign at least 4 of our team from last season imo. I would think Richardson and Okoronkwo are certs, Arissol rumoured. Once Zaire announced himself as Coach it was clear they were going to have some dough. As for Kestrels, there is a statement from Chairman Bish on our social media. As expected it raises more questions than answers. Makes it sound like it was the clubs decision to go the 'talent pathway' route and not that it's been forced due to a massive budget reduction. It's possible, I suppose as I guess it was the whole point of the Uni partnership... I doubt they'll sign more than two more. The statement says a lot without say anything. Is Bishop a politician ? No mention of Guymon or the loss of sponsorship, he's never going to admit they were massively bankrolled but he could acknowledge that

I guess he realises he’s in the twighlight of his playing career and will pick up the most convenient pay check he can around his personal circumstances. Doesn’t always mean he will get the best money - sometimes it’s what suits a personal circumstance.

Worthing are announcing two more signings this evening. Cole Gentry and Andre Arissol have been rumoured. We'll see...

I get that. He was the highest paid player (as opposed to the highest paid player/community coach) in Leopards' history, but now Solent are reduced to sitting on street corners with a begging bowl, I doubt those bucks are nearly as big.

No mention of Guymon or the loss of sponsorship, he's never going to admit they were massively bankrolled but he could acknowledge that I thought exactly the same as you. When I saw the length of the text I was expecting plenty of info. But it did read like a political statement full of spin. It reads like everything is part of the masterplan and it's all the clubs decision. Possible but unlikely...

You paint a depressing picture for us.... But actually that's exactly what we need to do. Get more sponsors in and actually make an effort to attract more fans in the door. If we Worthing and Hemel can do it then we should be too with our location/ venue and Uni link.

The time to do that was when you were winning everything in sight. But - and I know this comment will piss them off - your club's hierarchy were too busy patting each other on the back and telling Guymon how great he was to bother. It was all too easy, but always going to end this way. There will probably be a blog about this at some point...

And now Arrisol. 5 big signings by mid June. That's some statement. Who won the lottery? Serious Dosh.
