So, the NBL league structures were released for the upcoming season earlier… Someone on Twitter pointed out that Gloucester City Kings II line up in D3, but there’s no sign of a Kings I. Worcester Wolves start their new chapter in D3 as expected, and there’s three London teams in D3 South… despite there being a separate D3 London. www.basketballengland.co.uk/media/14131/senior-structures-2021-22.pdf

City of Birmingham Rockets also start in D2 with their shiny newly refurbished arena. Paul Douglas confirmed as coach this morning.
Also entering a women’s team into D2 for the first time

Is there really a need for so many teams in D3? What really was the point in scrapping D4?

Well my favourite is U12s North. One team from Merseyside, two from Manchester and 2 from NE England!! No triangular matches...all home and away. I don't think so BE.
Can you imagine that in any other sport at that age group? What were they thinking? Surely that's just a call to the clubs involved to say "really sorry but only two teams in NE entered so not feasible".

Sticks with the Royal theme, may follow a similar path as LCR

There are three constants in life. Death, taxes and BE being crap. Bit of a rant.

Marginally better than your time on the pine at Fantasy Island University, don't you think?

Has he got a day job alongside the basketball?
Could be perfect for USA All-Stars and Team Canada?

Southwest Minnesota State University??? Good grief. Why even announce this as it’s so insignificant!’ The NSIC is one of the top D2 conferences in the US. This guy was all conference and has European experience. Coincidentally,my local team have just signed a player who this guy played against in college (he was an honorable mention all American whilst Bruggeman was first team). My local team finished third in their league, narrowly behind Real Madrid and Barcelona, but that's probably a two bit league too.

Lol. No Derby very different to Leicester Warriors, they get crowds (under normal circumstances) for starters.
I suspect he will pick up some coaching commitments and accommodation. In the past a link up with the university was also a way that they enticed US players, but that link hasn't been there for a few years.
Derby are a club that do try and do things the right way and I guess in the current environment having an employer who delivers on their agreements also counts for something as well.

Nowadays Maybe, just maybe, if you actually read stuff rather than preaching at us about things you know nothing about, you'd learn that players don't come here to supervise Drunkster flipping burgers. They're employed to work for the club that signs them, that work normally includes working in their community programme or for a school they have links with. The 2015 play-off meltdown has been mentioned enough times - imports can only play BBL/WBBL/D1 basketball as professionals for their club.

Without reading anything at all I can guarantee loads of players at WBBL and NBL will be earning money outside of their basketball club to pay the bills And/or be students in some cases funded by parents etc You can be classed as a pro in sport and earn money elsewhere So don't talk down to me I dont need to read stuff to chat on a sports forum Life and in particular NBL and WBBL basketball really isn't quite as serious as it might appear inside your angry little head Do you actually still enjoy basketball as it seems to have just made you sour and bitter? Or have you always been that way?

Or have you always been that way? I try not to quote your posts. They're far too long, repetitive and you feel the need to double space paragraphs. But that one sums you up. You've made a statement that is rubbish, but apparently you don't need to learn anything because you already know everything. Of course players in the WBBL & D1 have outside jobs. But the imports don't. Many are at uni - that's not a job - the rest do community coaching for their club which is part of their employment by that club. They say a little knowledge is dangerous, eh? Don't take my word for it. I got these texts from a D1 GM while i was attempting to teach history today Of course I'll talk down to you. You're 5'2" and repeatedly show that you have little knowledge of the game. That would be absolutely fine if you didn't - laughably - claim the opposite. You won't read my blog, which is fine, but if you did you'd see that I love the game but I'm frustrated by how it's run. Your one area of interest - the BBL - is an exception, and I'm always happy to acknowledge that.

Tbh I read your blog and I’ve never got the impression you like basketball-in fact you seem to hate everything and everyone around it (except for Caitlin and Doncic). You even sat down and ranted about a ref at a kids game recently -I mean c’mon - tell the ref after the game if you are so inclined but don’t put it in the net for the world to see! And you laughing at someone for being 5’2” ? (Isn’t it ironic doncha think)?

I'm sure Drunkster will disapprove, tell us the sky is falling in and there won't be basketball ever again, but Derby's latest announcement
