Great signing for Derby! I see Mohawks in D3 are recruiting a yank too

Lol. No Derby very different to Leicester Warriors, they get crowds (under normal circumstances) for starters. I suspect he will pick up some coaching commitments and accommodation. In the past a link up with the university was also a way that they enticed US players, but that link hasn't been there for a few years. Derby are a club that do try and do things the right way and I guess in the current environment having an employer who delivers on their agreements also counts for something as well. Here's an example of how to reply to a post Hersey Not a hint of anger or bitterness or hatred You should try it occasionally Try smiling when you post Dosnt read that way tbh

It sounds like D1 should have a step up in quality this coming season. And with 2 BBL clubs dropping out there should be talent filtering down. Some good recruitment so far, Kestrels first signing is announced at 5pm today...

Hafeez is the real deal, as long as every offense goes through Hafeez. That is why he struggled at Hemel and Cavs last season. He needs to be playing 30+ minutes a game, coming off the bench for a cpl mins here and there does not suit his game at all.

He needs to be playing 30+ minutes a game, He'd be ideally placed at the Nix in the past, not so sure at the moment with the current assembled squad for the coming season.

Maybe, just maybe, if you actually read stuff rather than preaching at us about things you know nothing about, you'd learn that players don't come here to supervise Drunkster flipping burgers. They're employed to work for the club that signs them, that work normally includes working in their community programme or for a school they have links with. The 2015 play-off meltdown has been mentioned enough times - imports can only play BBL/WBBL/D1 basketball as professionals for their club. Without reading anything at all I can guarantee loads of players at WBBL and NBL will be earning money outside of their basketball club to pay the bills And/or be students in some cases funded by parents etc You can be classed as a pro in sport and earn money elsewhere So don't talk down to me I dont need to read stuff to chat on a sports forum Life and in particular NBL and WBBL basketball really isn't quite as serious as it might appear inside your angry little head Do you actually still enjoy basketball as it seems to have just made you sour and bitter? Or have you always been that way? For those with a vested interest, whether that be playing, supporting, coaching, supporting, administrating or any other capacity, in the NBL or WBBL yes it is serious. There’s probably more with a vested interest in those leagues than the BBL.

Derby early title favourites? Bit early for that. Solent still will be the team to beat. Ian Smith's replacement looks tasty himself.

Andre Arrissol re-signing has shocked me, thought he was poised for a bbl spot but I guess with 2 less clubs there's less contracts

Without wishing to sound like the I know something you don't know person I don't think it's fair for me to name him. I will say it's another guard from a good D1 school and from the videos I have watched of him he looks a good replacement. Of course you never know how he will settle in a new country or what the chemistry will be like between him and his colleagues. In my opinion one of solents main strength over the last couple of years has been consistency both in terms of key players and performance. Think D1 will be interesting this year. There's a few more former BBL players who are going to be playing in D1 this year for sure.

I caused a minor international incident when I wrote something similar 11 months ago, but it's quite possible that Kestrels have simply offered him more money than other clubs. They can definitely out-bid the likes of Surrey. I believe I may be allowed to bet now, and if odds were available I'd certainly put my money on Kestrels

But yes, the withdrawals may have scuppered this. And we may have offered more money. It's not a crime. Great signing anyway...

Kestrels sign Cole Gentry. Former Wright State Univerity PG. I'm hoping he makes a Wright State of the opposition...
