And he abandoned the team and his teammates when they needed him right before the playoffs.

I’m sure denzel has assured Carl and Paul that it won’t happen this season he was still a student athlete last year so technically this is his first year as a full time professional so surely will be earning more money . we also don’t know if there was anything that went on behind the scenes which made it easier for him to leave or if it was too good of an opportunity to turn down . We will never know

Patriots (so hard to not type raiders) seem to have signed someone from abroad I'm guessing a yank with a British passport.

Wouldn’t mind Ryan biesty back if that’s who you mean ? Great 3 point shooter and decent on the defensive end . Would defo play more if back this season . The other player arriving on the Instagram video definitely looks like Shawn shelton who had his rookie pro season with raiders

Liam played in Germany Pro B last season. Got good minutes. Cam King played in low Spanish league last season.

Considering Liam played German pro b last season you would expect him to be a decent player . I’m pretty sure Ryan biesty and Shawn shelton are back and if we are running with 9 pros I’m hopeful they bring in another centre and a couple more versatile guards

What about dusha ? Hasn’t been announced anywhere else yet and was fantastic starting for raiders last season while they waited for McGill. Personally I would have him back but who knows if he will be or not

Let’s be honest contracts in this day and age seem to mean absolutely nothing let’s hope he can return to Plymouth

So you hope he reneges on a contract and shafts another team who were prepared to commit to him? You would want someone at your new team who would do that? What happens if he does that and then one of the more established teams in BBL come calling and he does it to you? That OK as well?

Can you blame them ? Loyalty works both ways, if a club can drop a player at the drop of a hat then why can’t players drop clubs at the drop of a hat. If a player gets a reputation for letting teams down then he’ll struggle in future to find a club same as if a club let players go all the time they may not be as attractive as other clubs.

Similar things happen in office based work places, people are entitled to change their minds before a contract formerly begins.
There likely was no viable team in Plymouth at the point of signing too, that's now changed.
Assuming there's any truth to it, I'd imagine the feasibility is linked to whether he's been registered with BE yet.
So to answer your question, yes. And if another team comes calling, yes. If I can be the best car mechanic employed by a Ford dealership and the Red Bull F1 team give me an opportunity to change tyres in less than 2 seconds... I know what I'm taking. As fans it hurts, but I have no problem with somebody doing right by themselves, bit like Denzel going to shoot a movie - crap timing, but when else is the young man going to get to do that in his lifetime?

The standard BBL contract will state that a player can be released without prejudice in their first 8 games or 60 days whichever is shorter. This is protect clubs from players arriving injured, out of shape etc. The players don’t have to agree it but generally do.
There is no such reciprocal standard term although players can ask for outs in the contract and then the club can decide.
It’s really not the wild west that is made out above.

Contract law - first time I've heard it referred to as the Wild West!
