Well a thread I didn’t think I’d be writing but very glad I am….
The main thing is we have a team to support but it’s always fun to have a bit of speculation about players we may sign.
I did hear that several players from last year actually bought houses down in Plymouth ( I could be wrong however )
I’m gunna start based on no knowledge at and no idea of a budget but I’ll say Ubiaro, Dusha and will neighbour to sign.

Just speculating but Will Neigbour was training with Scorchers recently (amongst others) and Elvisi did post a contract signing emoji last week.

Something interesting I took from a podcast Dusha did recently was….. that the players if it was about the club not being able to afford the pavilions that the players even looked if they could put money in to help as he said the players really thought they had something going and had superb team chemistry.
I think a few from last year could be back and possibly some of the higher calibre players. I think at the moment Big Mike is the only one with a confirmed team.
But who knows it’ll be interesting not only to see the team being built but also finding out more on the owner himself.

Think you may need to temper your 3xcitement over player signings.
If this is a whole new company, they'll need a license from the home office to employ foreign players. That could take a couple of months?
Then, dont forget, the turkish ownets were pissing money up the wall in any way they could to bring some pretty expensive players down here. Think it would be wise for the new owner to be more conservative and not over extend himself with expensivd big name signings.
Who knows about a coach.. Paul James has very expensive tastes in players, and struggles to recruit and then coach/get the best out of players with 'less ability'. May be a good idea to approach Matt Newby? Dont kbow if he's confirmed with worcester?

Newby is an excellent coach who has proved he can get a team to play well, even with a small budget. What choices would James have apart from Raiders?

I notice some teams are listing Raiders or using the Raiders' logo on their fixture release. I was of the impression it was a completely new team/franchise. Has the name been transferred?

Nothing announced. BBL have changed the Raiders page to be 'Plymouth' so it's just clubs choosing to use the raiders name and logo |

If our coach isn’t PJ it’ll be Matt Newby I reckon.
I think Hassan will be back and Dusha, Neighbour will return.

I think it’s been confirmed that Pavilions will be hosting games on a short-term deal for the season, with the possibility of games in the second half of the season being rescheduled if Pavilions get a more lucrative booking. No word on a website/Twitter that I’ve seen - suspect there’s some wrangling still going on about potentially using the Raiders name. |

It's worthless to anyone but the club unless we will see the Birmingham raiders. I'm sure given 2 seasons the new name will stick!! Even though I always say I'm going raiders later!! I think the key this year is simply establishing so what if we're bottom, proving the city of Plymouth can viably host a bbl club and sort a new venue that's the real challenges |

So the Raiders branding and IP doesn't carry over to the new franchise? So basically, you have new owners, new branding and new team tee'd up to play in less than 2 months? And the BBL is fine with that? Herein lies the lack of professionalism. Seems desperate to me and will likely fail. Wasn't the Raiders in the BBL for a couple of DECADES? And if so, to just casually let it go just doesn't make any sense. What about the Raiders fans? They just start to follow the Plymouth XYZ Team? Crazy!!
