Colour scheme is similar to Glasgow and surrey. Zero relevance to Plymouth in name or appearance. I think it’s pretty crap tbh. But hey, we still have basketball in Plymouth. I would not be surprised if there is a rebrand To be honest apart from London and Cheshire, do any names make any relevance to the clubs home towns?

Don’t understand the logo at all! It’s awful and very childish/basic. Colour scheme is nice but I’m sure I’ve seen that somewhere before?
Can’t call yourselves Plymouth patriots and talk about strong proud local connections then show no relevance to the local area!
All British team this season!

So on a lighter note what’s the club to be called, If the set up has been rushed, maybe players brought in that the unknown coach has not picked and perhaps a lot smaller player budget.... I’ll go for Plymouth Butlins Because if the above is true then Plymouth’s season will be over in October just like Butlins. No branding agency brought in, no visa licence for imports, no coach and less than 6 weeks before first game. Nah, don’t seem rushed to me! Anyone who is supporting this shotgun rebrand/relaunch whatever, are incredibly naive. This is why the BBL is thought of in the way it appears…..amateur.

Are you still jabbering away about this Ron?
(For the unitiated Ron Scott is the American who promised a breakaway league - the BBA - as recently as 2005 - recruited Aston athletics and Coventry crusaders - and name dropped an inordinate amount of people. Games played 0).
Ron was yeoman on here for years, made up a fake person (Gareth from somewhere on the south coast from memory) and remains incredibly bitter at his failure to accomplish, well, anything.
He references 777 so much because they are the group that bought into London from America. And the green eyed monster came out.
So Ron
Again.
A league owned entity (where the league owns all the teams) wouldn’t be legally feasible in the country. We don’t have collective bargaining, we don’t have anti-trust litigation. What you are suggesting would be the equivalent of putting a tent up on the moon. Both impossible and pointless. I could be kind and say you know that, but even after all this time I’m not sure that you do.
As for the rest, just give us a break. Plymouth are doing a Cheshire. A dead club has been revived. And still your agenda rumbles on.
It’s like my spelling : paffetik

What happens after this season when the one season agreement with Plymouth Pavilions expires? The Patriots will be left in the same situation as the Raiders with no place to play?
What is realistically going to happen venue wise after a season in a city with no BBL appropriate venues other than the Pavilions?

Also, I’m sure he could care less what you think but if you have an issue with him, man up and tell him yourself dude. You know how to find him. I’m not familiar with doing a Cheshire, but it looks to me like more BBL window dressing. Rushing a new club out in what 6 weeks time shows weakness, not strength of the league. Not to mention Worcester folding. I haven’t drank the Kool Aid like you have Dave. I’m a realist and this looks horrible for what supposed to be top flight basketball in the U.K.!

They may not have "signed" anyone just yet but I can pretty much guarantee you that they've spoken with coaches and players already. The statement of Matt Newby said that he won't be back at Wolves so I can only assume that's because Plymouth have now been in touch and if they haven't, I'm 100% sure they have now. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes that we fans don't get to see. At the end of the day, we need to remember, it's still a business and there is a lot that goes on behind closed doors. The guys that run these clubs ain't silly (well sometimes they are), they will have made all these decisions weeks or months ago and it's only now we are hearing about it on social media.

Who mentioned Ron Scott being 50 plus and black? The BBA/PLB is doing really well though. They dont even put sandwiches on at NBA events anymore.

Woops - fat finger syndrome. But what I meant to say was that for those who know DaveF the idea of him getting stuck into kool aid or indeed anything other than Diet Coke is the funniest thing ever to appear on this site - and there have been quite a few strong competitors for that accolade over the years 👏

I like the colour scheme, agree the name and logo aren’t great and the arena situation is hard to be positive about but fair play to him as it’s all a lot better than the alternative of him not stepping in, I like the idea of having to have an all British team this year, if they have a proper budget and can get some good players in

Agree with the general consensus - quite like the colour scheme, but not impressed with the logo and name. The article mentioned Plymouth Pirates was considered, which I would’ve preferred given there’s a historical link to the area.
Do wonder what solution might be found on the arena in just a season. The new owner mentioned talks with other venues, but also timelines ‘if there is any building work that needs to be done’. Could they adapt an existing venue perhaps, like Giants once planned at their previous venue but never got off the ground?

Personally I don't dislike the branding but I think we could have been the Plymouth Basketball club for a year and that gives them a year to come up with a slick brand or fight for the raiders name just like the Washington football team have done

I think it looks like it was thrown together on microsoft word. I get that there was a short turnaround time but it is not one of the things that needed rushing IMO

I suspect that most Plymouth fans won't care about names/logos/colours when your team are bouncing a ball on the court again. Having been through a similar situation, some thoughts.

I see your point but it is not our team. It is a team that is filling the void of our team. No records will transfer, the only link is the location and venue (short term).
