A couple of long-term BBL players confirming on Hoopsfix/BBL Show this week that they’re moving away from playing professionally:
Joe Ikhinmwin leaves Lions behind to focus on his Cyber Nerds podcast.
Drew Lasker will take on a business development role with Eagles, in addition to coaching roles at Northumbria and Gateshead and his own media work.
Best of luck to both in their new endeavours, interesting that both are planning media-related things for their next chapter.

Where's DTB to talk $hit about Joe?
It's hard to believe Joe is retiring. He was great qith Leopards. THAT dunk at Coventry was a thing of raw beauty. if the plaxe is still standing i reckon the hoop is still shaking. i thought he might do a year or 2 with the rebarnded BA in D1, but that's his call.
it's a shame that 2 great guys didn't get to say bye to the fans properly. but i hope they're both successful in the future

i'd link to think its already arranged at both clubs that the players will be brought on court either pre-tip off or ht of the respective opening home games so they get that farewell and say bye to the fans you mention

Wonder if there’s any testimonials in the pipeline. Especially for Drew. Know it’s more of a football thing…but an easy way to bring in some much needed money.

Wonder if there’s any testimonials in the pipeline. Especially for Drew. Know it’s more of a football thing…but an easy way to bring in some much needed money. Riders did this for several long-standing players. Great idea. |
