No. It’s not a typo for the women’s NBL. 😂 Just saw on Twitter that Basketball Wales will be launching a national league of their own this season, with clubs to be announced shortly:
Seems to be a way to raise the level of competition for existing local league clubs for the time being, rather than luring the likes of Cardiff Archers and RCT Gladiators away from the English NBL. (Limits on NBL-registered players, etc) Intrigued to see how it all works out, and credit to BW for trying something more radical than maintaining the status quo.

Never played in it myself, but I know theres teams the English side of the border scrambling to play in the North Wales Basketball league (which did pre pandemic play out midweek) and was one of the better run local leagues around.
Hopefully it takes off because theres definitely a market for it up north (and I imagine south too, although I simply havent a clue!!!) Good on them for giving it a go.

This now makes sense if this is where the Basketball Wales allstar team is coming from for the BBL Trophy?

Judging by some of the Welsh players posts it's the national team but I imagine it's being used as a show piece for the new league. I wish them all the success
