Really uninspiring. Sharks seem to have this thing on bringing back under achievers?
Koch ended up playing less and less minutes as the season went on and Nicholls was poor other the odd game.
Last year we had 4 imports and the best 2 were Helmsley and Lillard. Those are not returning and the two were not even regular starters are brought back?
We have brought in 2 new American guards and Ratino added to Delpeche, Tuck and Mveuzolo. We seem deeper (Tuck 8th man) but unless Koch and Nicholls can be far more consistent then it's going to be another subpar season unless the 2 new guards are dynamite but we were distinctly average with the outstanding Helmsley starring wi concerning.
The recruitment lacks imagination and desire to get better bringing back 6 of the 10 that played .500 basketball and losing our best 2 players.
No issues Marsden and Lewis not being retained. Former was so slow and the latter a ball hog who was a streaky shooter who rarely hit a streak.

Pretty yawn I agree . Nicolas was for me one of the worst starters in the league last year. His stats for the 30 mins a game as an import we’re Dreadful. For me I would of rather of kept Marsden for his British reliability and rebounding and signed some Americans with real quality.
Seems a tough season in store for the sharks.

I cant agree, with most of the above.
Whilst I do agree that Kipper was not a good enough starter, he showed that he has the talent but he needs to be playing in a different system where he is not the go to guy, and many foreign players in their rookie season struggle to adapt to the way the officials call situations & I thik he suuffered from that, and being in the shadow of Antwon, who was a go-to guy but was selfish at times with his distribution. Koch was the 4th best 2pts percentage & 4th best feild goals percentage averaging around 11 PPG & 7th best fouls on player.

Without seeing the other 2 new americans sharks roster is a bit meh. However their meh roster is always capable of winning, results based game so we shall see

Frontcourt is maybe looking a bit vanilla but if Sharks fans need some cheering up (and when don't they?) I think this new backcourt is genuinely something to be excited about. Both experienced, in their prime pros. After a strong showing in NM1 last season Anderson looks a pretty safe bet to do well in this league. And I think Williams has the potential to be a standout. Big time scorer in college. Took last season off by the looks of it but prior to that he had three fairly productive years split between the competitive Polish and Belgian leagues. On paper one of the signings of the summer I reckon.

Admire your optimism but as the other poster said Nicholls was no doubt one of the poorer imports. Appalling shot selection, limited defence and not reliable night to night. I am not saying he has to be a go to guy but he was not even starting some game and Lyons seemed to lose some trust. This goes for Koch too. Koch would start games ok but fade badly or get into foul trouble. He never produced any real level of consistency. To me 9ppg an 11ppg is poor for two imports when they do not provide much else in terms of assists or defence (Koch gets a few blocks but is painfully slow). Seems bewildering to bring back your worst 2 imports of the 4. Granted Lillard was a ball hog who made mistakes but also made things happen. Hemsley will be a big miss too. I would rather have added something different up top - no idea why we bring back the same players after very average season. A lot depends on the guards for scoring but the roster looks like a dreary 5th/6th to 8th type team.

Do what you've always done, get what you've always got. Terrible signings, mediocrity awaits. Again.

Didn’t do too bad against Ridets tonight 88-80 Haven't found a stats sheet yet but don't think we had Crandall or Jackson and we played quite a few students from L/borough.
