Shame about Lee but good to see a quick replacement found and what a great name, headline writers dream

A real shame about William Lee as he would have been a real crowd pleaser .
All the best for the future William and thanks for the memories.

Gutted about Lee. An entertainer and for me, one of the more uniquely skilled players in the league last year. A long, athletic 6'9" guy who defends well and shoots the ball half decent from the perimeter. Excellent finisher, strong rebounder. Don't imagine players like that are easy to find on a relatively limited budget.
There are some things to like on McLovin's resume. Seems like another who was pretty well rated coming out of high school. 13 and 5 across his final two years at Ohio State is pretty good production in a strong conference though he did play a lot of minutes for those numbers. Looks like he may have been another of those Exhibit 10 guys. G-League numbers don't wow you but neither did Lee's. Not a league that even good BBL players excel in and the mere fact he spent two full seasons over there could be construed as a positive.
Even though he's played exclusively at a good level, the modest overall FG%'s he's typically posted are a bit of a concern. Makes me think he might not be much of a factor around the rim. Think he'll probably be a better perimeter shooter than Lee and possibly a bit more adept off the dribble. But even though he's virtually identical frame-wise, I'm not confident he's going to have the same finishing ability and I'm certainly not expecting him to be as good a rebounder or rim protector. First impression is he's more of a long SF than a 4/5 like Lee. Concerning too that he doesn't appear to have played anywhere professionally in over two years.
Hopefully he'll work out well but he's certainly not the sure thing Lee would have been and I'm not confident his all round contribution is going to be as good. Feels like a pretty big setback this.
