The lack of messages on here is ominous - at least we only lost by 3 this time….

Indeed, Balder.
Well, so far we know that Eagles have plenty of room for improvement. Looks to me that there are some good components there but they aren’t (yet) working together. Of the new arrivals, Wesley Person looks able but is a lightweight in comparison to Cortez Edwards last year. The Duke looks like a crowd-pleaser with good athleticism but rough edges. Corey Johnson hasn’t shown much yet (hopefully his time will come). My biggest concern is Vinson who looks unfit and behind the pace.
Hopefully improvement will be rapid. It needs to be.
And what they heck were all those fouls about in the last ten seconds?

They had to foul to try and get possession back but not sue why they let so many seconds run down to then only leave a Hail Mary option

I think Corey Johnson has become a bit of a marked man in the BBL now, he's not gonna be left open much this season from what I've seen so far. That foul on the half way line with not a lot left on the shot clock was a killer though. That's where the game was lost for me tonight, not to mention the hole they put themselves in in the first half.
Person Jnr seems a decent scorer but a definite downgrade from Cortez in all other aspects of the game. Vinson is the biggest worry for me, he looks way off the pace at the moment. Hopefully that's just a fitness thing, not a great way to endear yourself to a new club if that is the case though. I like Shelton but his hands seem a bit dodgy at times when catching passes, hopefully that will settle down as he gets more settled in the team.
Apart from the loss, I really enjoyed the game tonight. The crowd really got in to it and the players responded. Cracking entertainment.

A good win for the Sharks, subs seemed better but Koch ? Is it a wasted permit or is he injured or what

Strange one, but sharks looked better without him and tuck

I have not checked the stats but Corey Johnson's effectiveness seemed to decline last season. Maybe that was due to more defensive attention being paid to him, but my impression was that it was more than that. He was not even attempting shots he would have taken earlier in the season and the year before that. Working to instructions from the coach? Confidence down? Don't know. Eagles will certainly need to him step back up to where he was.

Too many missed lay ups, poor decisions and AWOL defence. Coach has his work cut out. However, Eagles defence and transition offence in the third quarter gives a degree of of hope, but we need to see a lot more of it. A worthy win for Sharks. As for BBL player...😱

It was better but our front court look way off the pace still. The Duke needs time, Vinson looks unfit and Johnson looks like he has zero confidence. Not sure if playing Fletch off the ball to accommodate Peirson is ever going to work, I understand the two pronged attack we seemed to be trying but I suspect Peirson is going to have to get used to coming off the bench as Fletch/Williams looks far more of a natural back court pairing. We still struggle defensively without Defoe on court, not sure how many seasons I've said that for now 😂 And it was always going to be difficult replacing 4 of our starting 5, even worse given no preseason.

Dunno what to make of it but he was knocking down 3s all the way through warmup looking the most confident of him, Williams and Sayers, but come the game, took only 2 shots.

Thought Sharks played well tbh.
Anderson looks a solid pickup, certainly a pass first PG. Jon Jon looks an upgrade on Lillard imo. Strong moves to the basket without the ball hog Lillard was.
Thought Nichols was decent last year and still looks good this year.
Depelche looks good. Don’t hate Koch either, he’s decent one on one.
I just wish Sharks home game experience could get anywhere as good as Newcastles. Looked fantastic, the gulf is vast.

It's a small sample size, but we haven't looked bad these last 2 games, and Nichols certainly looks a lot better then last year. Time will tell if this form continues or not. Koch though - look ffs, either play him or replace him. What's the point of playing an import 12 minutes a game!?! You either think he's good enough or you don't, make your ****ing mind up and stick with it!
