Riders are playing a team without American imports but have to say we are looking strong in terms of defence, fast breaks, ball movement and shooting. The team have obviously benefitted from the couple of weeks training together. Players developing a rapport and understanding of each other's strengths. Loving is a hell of a recruit and Jackson is justifying his return. Mackenzie has slotted into Rob's system very smoothly. Just the injury to Nelson-Henry that is a cloud on the horizon. Hope he recovers quickly.

I didn’t make the trip today, but amazing to see so many fans in for the new franchise in Plymouth!!! What a basketball city!!! Even more amazing when you consider the lions in a prime basketball location can bare get any bums on seated. Well done Plymouth

It’s the best head to head victory’s in the BBL.
And also Robs 399 game win.

Everyone knew they would be poor with the upheaval late signings and the fact the decent UK players were all gone before they starting signing players! This patriots team will be Leeds force Durham wildcats and end Merseyside tigers poor. The key is to get through the season get the fans in and build for next year! Will there be lots of blowouts absolutely! Will there be many wins probably not but we all knew that! |

I know they like to post that everything is selling fast but when I checked at 130 today there was still 450 tickets available. How many times have you seen an away team annoyed they cant warm up at half time because there are 100 kids on court paying a quid for a shot, today there were 9. I really wish them success but they need help off court before on it |

I really wish them success but they need help off court before on it A lot of people didn’t realise for half time shoot out you needed to pay/purchase a ticket before tip off so that limited numbers but numbers were already limited to 50. I agree though that they need help off court first. I feel they are trying to run before they can walk! |

The new owner s going to need a fair bit of money coming in to help cover the costs of this season. Sponsorship evidence seems fairly thin on the ground at the minute, though they have got a few new advertisers on board judging by the programme.
From where I was sat, there seemed to be a lot of people there. I couldnt see the top area though.
Again, I know this is all relatively short notice, but a website can be updated in minutes. Not having a highly visible link on the website (or ANY link at all) to purchase game tickets is a big mistake. They REALLY need that.
Feel bad for Denzel - he's going to have to play all 40 minutes of every game if yesterday is anything to go by. God help them if hes tired, has an off day, gets injured or in foul trouble. Having said that, Leicester look exceptional and never really had to get out of 2nd gear.
Good to see basketball back, thank you Mr Heslop for stepping up and saving it. Everyone who was at the game yesterday will be very grateful you did.

Thanks for the reminder about the Leeds blowout. I had quite forgotten that one. But I tend not to retain too much memory of games like that: they are too much like watching the pre-game warmup. A buzzer beating 3 from a corner to win the game sticks much longer in the old grey cells.
As for Patriots, it is at least good to see that basketball is alive in Plymouth and there there was a reasonaby good crowd for it. Clearly, the club has much to do.

Think I spotted DNH wandering around in a boot at the end of this one? Any word on the severity of his injury? If it's a long term thing we'll surely have to find a way of adding another big body to the roster? Loving is looking nice enough so far but I think he plays smaller than Lee, despite the near identical frame. Not a guy that can play minutes at the 5 spot and I'm not sure Adekoya can either. We were forced to play some very small, very lightweight lineups in this one. Clearly didn't make a jot of difference against Patriots but that isn't saying much.
