Sorry bit late to this but I watched the game on recording last night. I thought Defoe was immense and willed the struggling Eagles back into the game but he was subsequently gassed for about the last 2 mins which conversely hurt them a bit. I would agree though, he really makes them tick at the moment.
I would also say that Eagles really botched the last 2 mins of the game in a most "un-Eagles" like fashion. When classy players like Fletcher are shooting air balls from the top of the key I guess you know its not your day! I really thought they were going to nick the win of the back of Defoes efforts.
