Think this game will pose some problems for Riders - namely how to deal with Sharks' front court players. Without DNH we are weakened at that position and against Newcastle Sharks performed very well, both as a whole team but also in the front court. Not long till we find out.

Solid win by Riders without DNH. Hard game and it was tough throughout but our defence and Loving won that. Thought we were going to be defeated after a great first quarter by Sharks.

I have never heard someone talk so much about stats during a game as I did tonight, Talk about boring the life out the game..... Good to pick up the W though

I didn't reply straight away last night but now I've reflected on things overnight
This was a great tight game, and was one where either team could have won, My dissappointment was why did the refs in the last 3 minutes with a game that had a 2 point difference have to start cmaking calls on nothing contact ( if any ) when they hadn't call this all game through. Let the players decide not iffy calls, they ignored the over 5 seconds inbound by Riders, but it was iffy, so probably a good no call. They should have let the players decide, and only intervene with the obvious / blatant stuff.
It was high tempo exciting stuff, and could / should have gone either eay.

Hard fought game for 30+ minutes but for me Riders felt a little more composed / mature down the stretch. Great first Q by Sharks show they can explode against top level opposition but then Riders clamped down hard. Loving was absolutely cold blooded
