Excuse my ignorance but are there many / any Brits playing in European leagues this year or has the regulations changed to classify them as imports and not Europeans and reduced opportunities?

7/12 of the GB team who played this week are with European clubs. i guess in the past it would've been a bit higher but it's such a small sample size it's hard to judge plus Myles Hesson and Ovie Soko staying in Japan might have changed the ratio. Leaving the EU will undoubtedly lead to less Brits playing in Europe, maybe not for the top level players but the guys who go and play in the lower divisions in Spain or Italy as much for the experience as the money will now find themselves competing with Americans.

Yep that extends to the Initial GB squad too - Mo Soluade and DVO in Spain for example. I know of other ex-Sheffield Juniors on contracts in Italy and Netherlands, but sometimes that comes down to dual nationality

Out of those 7 players though a number have other passports : including Cotonou status. Opportunities for UK passport only players are much reduced.
