Sure Number 6 will be along to tell us that is wrong!
The crowds are appalling and management has to act or the club may aswell fold. I go where I can but the prices for the games are ridiculous really when there is so much competition in the Sheffield for Sport. The entertainment on court is not the best sadly as much as I love hoops and there provide nothing in the way of stuff away from the action - one cheerleader last night and the same old tired soundtrack. We had 'Here we go!' like a kids party again last night as the game ended.
I would not mind say paying £10 for me and a £5 for my son but having to pay over £30 for two tickets is not really value considering the product out there.
I know I have banged on about it on here but surely the franchise sees nearly full areans on 4 sides at Cheshire, Newcastle, Leicester and others and thinks we need to do something different - marketing, prices, on court product, off court stuff, something innovative?
Sharks used to get 1,000+ most nights back in the mid 90s and went up to nearly 2,000 in the glory days at the turn of the millenium. Even maybe 10 years ago there would be 700-800 there most games minimum.
Most have given up or moved onto other things. Kids love basketball - working in a school I see them playing all the time and they would come if they knew about it and had good offers on.
I do wonder whether the current owners just are not that bothered anymore? We still have heard nothing about the move and even if we do move are they daft to think us being able to choose our days/nights - say Sunday afternoon instead of Friday will bring in an extra 1,000 fans?
They need to advertise, get in the schools, leaflet drop, get involved with the football clubs, something to attract a few hundred fans as the way things have gone in 3 years there will be lucky to be anyone there but volunteers doing the game night and friends/family of players.
Makes me mad. I'd gladly do a leaflet/poster drop for a few nights a month if it meant it attracted an extra 10 fans.
