Hopefully Egale should still be working how they are going to play this year, not seen anything like the previous years teamwork and quality. If Nix play as well as against Sharks we should do well. Incidentally Nix have played 15 games so far this season and only lost 2 at home. Away is a different matter!!

Newcastle are probably going to win this one I think, having turned a corner in terms of their energy and effort. I think Friday was a significant marker in their season. If they return to poor transitions and their heads go down at any point it will have been a false dawn but if I were a betting man I'd put my money on an Eagles victory. Phoenix are a talented team so it will be a good contest I reckon. One to watch.

Hopefully we didn't over celebrate on Friday and go to Cheshire ready to take care of business. Afterall as the underdog team we all thought we'd get battered on Friday and look what happened instead. From what I have seen so far from Cheshire on sky they don't play very good defence so if they play the same then we shouldn't have a problem. But considering how they turned things around against Riders despite the loss they may suprise. And after fantastic performances from Ben Mockford and Teddy Okerferor for Team GB last week if they can bring that level of play to Cheshire we might be in for a hard afternoon. Either way I'm looking for to watching it on player. C'mon Eagles. ๐๐ฆ

Why can the commentator not differentiate between Teddy and Ocherobia? Itโs so annoying
Mockford really needs to stop shooting
Other than that what a game

Why is Namon Wright not on court during last two overtimes?

Wow!Just when you thought our game against London was going to be the most dramatic event of the week I never expected this today.
First off well played to the Nix, the gave us one hell of a battle and I thought they were going to steal it. If it had gone to a 4th OT we probably would have been in danger of missing Christmas with how tight this game was.
No doubt the players will feel this one tommorow. The Eagles while we played competively and our defence was most okay today we did miss alot of open shots which was concerning.
As for Cheshire I Austin, Orcharobie and Teddy were fantastic and I felt Austin cause us a lot of disruption in the 2nd half so credit to him for that. Mockford whilst he knocked some great long range shots he made some clumsy decisions towards the end. Absolutely no need for that near mid court 3 when they had time to set up a better play.
On another note I just hope Johnson Thompson is okay and not injured. It was concerning to see him hobble out the door after the match had finished.
Well played Eagles! ๐๐ฆ

Absolute shame someone had to lose, but credit to Eagles for not giving up, and my favourite stat -30 assists in 2 games for you know who !

What an absolutely fantastic game shame there had to be a loser But for me it was overshadowed by the antics of defoe tonight and the two guys sat by the side of the court seemed to be getting in a rather heated argument with him and fletcher

tuned in part way through P2 - glad I did and saw this entertaining end to P4, OT1 and OT2 and then a OT3 to round it all off.

A 55 minute game and we matched them for 53 1/2 of them. Great performance e from the twin towers of Ochereobia and Dickerson with 45 points between them and 21 rebounds. Definitely felt that the refs were conned by Darius when he was felled by an offensive foul twice later on in the game, obviously the recruitment of Tom Daley's coach to the Eagles has paid dividends. Great game Nix were always there for the win but sadly another loss in the results table. Please can we have a dull boring game a d a win?

Both sides had the opportunity to win it although I did wonder if Duke got lucky at the end as even I thought he travelled when he went to the basket. Again I felt poor shot selection from Mockford was what costed you guys the game at the end. I also noticed we seem to be complaining to the refs a little much at times like a footballer when they make a decision. I understand for major calls or if its definatelt wrong but on little plays I would I would say we should focus more and move on. On another note it was amusing at the start when a Nix player missed a block from the fast break and literally flew out the door. Never seen that before in game.

Have to agree with that comment on Duke and the no call. If he was playing at home he'd need a Metro card to travel that far without paying!! At least when that Nix player left the arena he was only into the changing room. A good while ago when Yorrick Williams was in a game at the old Northgate Arena he did the same except it was a fire door and he was out into the car park, we tried but couldn't get the doors closed before he got back in.

After we went up by 3 and Teddy shot another 3 I thought we were about to witness a game of 3 half's, literally!

Well, a really good weekend for me. Two great games of basketball, a win for the Toon and Hamilton giving Red Bull a lesson in driving. I was concerned with multiple soft turnovers and Nix bigs caused no end of trouble at both ends of the court. Mockford great for GB, less so for Nix. Another imperious performance from Fletch who was just shy of a triple double. Either team could have won but I feel indiscipline cost Nix. Definitely one to watch again.
Space Jammer "On another note it was amusing at the start when a Nix player missed a block from the fast break and literally flew out the door".
Yes he was travelling wasn't he. Back in the day when Edinburgh Rocks played at the Quarry similar things happened fairly regularly. No door, just a brick wall. Sometimes it did not end well๐.

I can understand roffโs memory of Yorrick Williams - the player we all loved to hate. Was he the first Williams in the BBL and are any of the countless current BBL Williams his offspring ?
