Sorry but that’s an awful publication.
With travel and preparation the impact is more like 4 weeks
Defoe is injured. I’d argue that Eagles havnt lose 2 games as a result of Lasker not being available.
The top 8 is done and Nix we’re realistically out the play off run weeks ago. You refer to them on 8th and 9th spot.
I’d be more interested in the national team if it had the best English players in a credible basketball competition. I’ve previously liked your blogs but not this one.

I do think there is still the chance of a playoff place up for grabs, although unlikely. I kind of agree with you questioning the credibility of the Commonwealth competition, although I doubt England or Scotland will win it!? Which doesn't say much for our national teams. Plus any opportunity to support the national teams would show the powers that be that basketball maybe isn't as obscure as it's made out to be. Maybe a better piece would have questioned the squad selections more.

The Scotland squad is as strong as it can be. I guess England could've has a stronger squad if players were available.

I think more through luck than judgement we are fortunate that the players going to CG doesn't seem likely to impact who wins the league and ain't going to have much impact on playoff qualification either. Whereas it could have seriously impacted both.

Sorry but that’s an awful publication. I dream of the day that someone says "Hersey, your blog is full of crap", it'll get me more hits
This isn't just a blatant plug for my suggestion about pausing the regular season and staging the BBL Trophy, but I think it would have been better than the randomness that the continuing the league programme has caused.

Didn't get any more hits... Rightly so! Swing and a miss...

Of the topic of the commonwealth games, I wish there was more information available such as attendances etc. The elite hockey league (ice hockey) hit 1 million attendances this season alone, be interesting to see if the BBL attendances have increased / decreases over the years... or am I just a nerd lol

A couple of articles to celebrate 100 straight days of at least one post. I may hibernate soon.

We're definitely in the midst of a new dynasty. Move over Eagles, it's the Riders' turn now. Some may say that already happened last year, but I think 3IAR puts it beyond doubt. I appreciate some will say the league is weaker this year.....we get that spouted every year. I don't really buy it. No-one has ever put forward conclusive proof. Eagles aren't as good as they were, Rocks and Lions are better than they were.

I don't think leagues become instantly stronger or weaker in the space of a single season. Aside from something like Bosman - which did change everything instantly - they tend to evolve over 2/3/4 seasons.
Anyway, I'm still plugging away on my blog. I'm well over 100 straight days of something new day (117, I think) but I'd appreciate any feedback.
