I don't think leagues become instantly stronger or weaker in the space of a single season. Aside from something like Bosman - which did change everything instantly - they tend to evolve over 2/3/4 seasons.
Anyway, I'm still plugging away on my blog. I'm well over 100 straight days of something new day (117, I think) but I'd appreciate any feedback. Nice piece. Jingling Joe Ingles, known as the Maths Teacher by his peers. Looks good in the playoffs as well as the regular season. 6ft8 with point guard skills!

In a world where sportsmen are now athletes and with the level of training and support they get to perform I think it's fair enough to say any sportsman who is currently at the top of the tree in their sport must be up with the GOAT In athletics all the records have improved. Sport is tougher than ever and in virtually every sport you need to be an athlete nowadays and you are competing against athletes. Etc. So I think it's harder to stand out than ever before.

Good read. As an MJ over LeBron fan for the GOAT, I'll always question elements of the piece. Scottie wasn't always good, particularly the first 3 championships. He certainly wasnt the hall of famer he developed into. The 96 onwards bulls were strong, and pretty unbeatable, but still without MJ scoring over a third of their points, they wouldn't have won any championships. I would argue LeBron has won championships on a strong Miami team, that already had the pedigree. Also, the championship Cavs team of 2016 had potentially 2 other hall of famers in Kyrie and Love, the later of which had an exceptional series against the Raps this season, of which has been a little over looked. Still, the debate will always rage on, and in many ways MJ is right, that it's a generational thing. LeBron is clearly the GOAT of his generation as MJ was his and Kobe, Isaiah, Bird, Magic, Kareem and Russell etc, have a definite claim to a specific era. Maybe even more!

Cheers. I've more feedback on this one that any other article, and no one can really decide whether they agree with me or not! I think it's fair to say that MJ got more support in his later years, while LeBron is now close to being a one-man team at times. i quite like the GOTE (greatest of the era) idea, but where does an era begin and end. Shaq and Kobe both have claims but they overlapped both in era and at Lakers. It's the debate that will never end.
A few more NBA ramblings over the next couple of days

Nice review. When you look back at what your owner said would constitute a successful season you have seriously under achieved as you do point out yourself I think Garboletto has to be held responsible. He's taken over a club with a strong group of Brits and plenty of BBL experience amongst them. He just needed to add some quality imports and get them to half gel and you would have been competing for every trophy. When he was appointed everyone expected him to do very well. I know he lost his job for off court reasons but he was failing anyway on court. Not sure replacing with an inexperienced coach is the way to move forward. I did wonder if the guy who coached the Scotland team in CG might come over here and take the job on. That would have been interesting.

At the start of playoffs I remember most saying that the results were very hard to predict this season. Plus we had the usual debate (referred to in this blog) where the playoff format was questioned. Simple fact is despite the questioning of the format the two best current teams in BBL have reached the final with loads to spare. Even over two legs on aggregate the best teams should win through.

I would definitely like to see what Beveridge could do next season. However we are where we are and time will tell I guess. I imagine Duncan Smillie will put the pressure on Darryl Wood and players like Achara and Fraser next season. I certainly would be.

Basically the same record. Some Rocks fans have talked about Rob Beveridge being our coach. He's under contract for a couple of years though, and I suspect we're not going to be rolling in cash next season.

Right, you either read this or this or the kitten gets it. Clearly this would have worked better it I could post a pic of a kitten. But believe me, there is a kitten (probably) and it might get it (possibly)
