Wonder whether many people will decide to stay in rather than attend in person tonight's game given the transmission rate for Covid atm? It's on Sky and that may encourage some to either: - attend - stay home Having tv cameras at the game undoubtedly adds excitement to the experience. I'm also wondering whether we'll see crowds banned from indoor arenas in the New Year? In which case I definitely want to see this in person at the Morningside. All feels horribly like deja vu.

I'll be watching from home on Sky but if the game was in Newcastle I would 100% be there. I hope it doesn't deter the crowd but as the away team having less Leicester fans to cheer against us wouldn't be a bad thing.
I like to think this could be deja vu Sheffield/London situation and Newcastle will come out with a point to prove and alot to answer for after last week's embarrassing display against Bristol. Although I'm not sure lighting will strike twice.
Having said that although they beat London I imagine Leicester and Rob will also have a point to prove after letting a potential 20 point 1st leg advantage slip to a 3 point advantage over Lions.
Either way I hope for a better game then the 1st match up against Riders and the Eagles play stronger then what they did. If I was to predict and put money on it I would say Riders by 20 after last week if the Riders are merciful.
Does anyone know if we have Sayers back at least?

Don’t forget that Masks are required for tonight’s game but a Covid passport is not. Stay safe all.

2 more will there tonight.
Would take my mask anyway. Why has the guidance come from? Club have been silent, other than trying to sell tickets!

Once the government made their announcements, there was a post on Facebook & Instagram detailing the changes from the Morningside Arenas perspective. I was impressed at how quickly they got something out....

Well so far the score doesn't suprise me and unfortunately going the way of Riders at the half.
I mean we're knocking down some decent 3's and Sayers is showing exactly why we missed him but I cannot see us coming back into this one.
Especially when Crandell looks like he's been watching Steph Curry all week and is banging in incredible long range 3's for fun.
I like to hope we can come out with a strong 3rd Quarter and Riders fall apart like they did against London. But something tells me that's not how this is going to end.

Not sure about Boris's bubble being burst but certainly looks like the era of Eagles domination has burst.

Nice to see Defoe not getting away with his antics this week Funny in the commentary Darius and his floppy moves were highlighted by Ant Rowe. Lasker tried to defend Darius but got no change from Rowe. Obviously Drew wasn't watching him against Phoenix.

No pleasure in my almost spot on prediction. Men and boys I’m afraid - we have to ask if the coaching is to blame ?

Well done Leicester as an Eagles fan I was again disappointed but also not surprised.
Just when you thought at the start of the 2nd half Leicester were asleep and we could sneek back. The beast awoke and by the 4th Quarter even the Riders 2nd unit were making a show of us.
I honestly not sure what the answer is for the Eagles this season or how we managed to defeat London 2 weeks ago. All I can any for the Eagles is we need a miracle for Christmas or the gift of how to actually shoot since we couldn't hit a barn door at times.
If we want any chance of making a good run of the Trophy which is looking like our best shot of sliverware if we can sort ourselves out.
As for Leicester I don't think their was a player who didn't look dangerous tonight. I said Crandell looked like he'd been watch Steph Curry banging in 3's all week. In the 2nd half it looked like he wasn't the only Riders player who did the same homework.
I heard Drew on comms saying he wanted other players other then Fletcher and Defoe to step up for the Eagles and not be afraid to be thar guy. I can see guys like Duke, Peel and Wes trying but I think that could be the problem aswell.
The Eagles teams of old were successful by being a better team together just like Leicester tonight. If one star player wasn't on his game another would step up in his place. With this Eagles team I haven't yet seen that this season unfortunately.
On the final note unless we progress in trophy at least its going to be awhile before our next meeting with Riders.

Nice to beat eagles by 30 without having to get out of second or third gear.
Geno is getting more and more dangerous with his 3, and whelan becomes a better player with every game.
Did the eagles coach see how peel used to play for London as he is no way making best use of his talents. Shelton needs to stop talking and start playing twice against riders he's only started turning up in garbage time. Wanted to start a wrestle with Jordan in the last minute oh dear.

No pleasure in my almost spot on prediction. Men and boys I’m afraid - we have to ask if the coaching is to blame ? Looking on the Eagles Facebook page where the comments on out own performance are brutal I can't seem to disagree with this. As much as I like Ian, looking at the performances from this season and some from previous seasons I am questioning if he can coach us to a BBL Championship title. Got to give him credit for bring us 3 trophies in his first 2 seasons. But after some of the recent performances I have wondered if we need someone new at the helm and with a little more fire power. Under Fab if we'd played half as bad he would have called a time out and he'd be showing how livid he was and telling the guys to step it up. And the usually they would come out and turn it around. Here we don't seem to be doing that. When the Eagles lost Fab they didn't put they didn't exactly put head coach role on the market. With our professional set up I'd like to thing we'd get alot of attraction.

It was a very good performance by all of the Riders players. I thought it would be much closer but our defence stopped Eagles from scoring freely. After a timeout called by Newcastle their players stepped up the intensity of their defence and it worked for a brief spell and the lead shrank to 12. However, Riders responded and surged back into a massive lead. And that was the way it stayed till the final buzzer.

But what you saw there at the start of the 3rd was similar to what we saw in the first 5 minutes against the Flyers last week. To put it in context it was like going on a group road trip but someone forgot to check the petrol before setting off. We started out great and everyone was having fun. Then all of sudden we broke down and after that no one could figure out how on earth to fix the car.
