Does anyone know how long it takes for permits/visas take to get processed???.

You notice some teams have their import quota filled quickly or some imports announced while other teams say they are waiting for permits/visas!!!! Then its weeks before any announcement.

Does it also assist if you have played in this country before or is the process the same length of time for all applications?

BE are pretty quick. Visa is around a month. It can be speeded up by paying extra
