I hope this doesnt cause any problems.
Ive noticed in a few threads that some posts have got almost personnal and nearly threatening.
To me this forum IS for basketball fans to communicate and engage, if want to, into discussions about various items of interest to us within the BBL non more than the games themselves and the different clubs.
Its sad to see some remarks been made.
I dont know how much our moderators can do to 'weed' out unwanted and unwarranted remarks mainly posted those under name of 'guest'. Last one aimed at Hersey last night. Can it be that only registered users can post and their accounts be deleted if need be.
Sorry to be serious for a while but some behaviour is not needed or welcome here. Rant over

IRF I agree maybe threatening was too strong a word.
Unsuitable could be a better word.
As I said I hope it doesnt cause problems it was an observation on a great fans forum that personally ive only been using to post since August altho been viewing for a while, and most of the 'banter' is amusing

There is a "report post" function available for anything deemed unsuitable.

In terms of moderating, we're keen to avoid stepping in unless we absolutely have to. Over moderation is incredibly damaging to sites like this. That said, We're happy to look at anything that concerns you (or anyone else).

I haven't seen anything that could be described as close to threatening, or even unsuitable. There's a reason why WB went all-registered (to post) and it's plain to see reading the TV thread. If it's too much effort to register, then I guess guest's opinions aren't of importance even to the person who made them. It's not as if Gonk & co are going to reveal who a person is if they're email address gives the game away. But then what have I ever done in basketball

Got it in one. All info is confidential. Everyone here will remain unidentified unless they choose to reveal who they are - they are under no obligation to do so.

I suppose they have had to read thread which hopefully more people joining in which generates interest. I dont know Hersey what have you done???πππ

Everyone should register is as simple as that! It's not hard to do and it's not like the old days when you had to login each time, it stays logged in. Having 3 guests in one thread makes it had to follow on who's contributing.

I don't mind it to be fair, and I come in for a fair bit of stick from the keyboard warrior guests from time to time.
Funny, nobody's ever had the balls to come talk to me face to face before. One fella called Firmin threatened to once, too chicken **** in the end. But thats not the point
I actually think having anonymous guests on here stirs conversation quite often and the sites clearly thriving, I think a small part of its success is having anon users. Like Hersey says though, you have to take what some say with a pinch of salt, but we're an intelligent bunch, I'm sure we can see who the morons are and those who actually have something to say.
Like gonk says, as the more responsible among the users, the registered members should take the impetus to report inappropriate stuff, and the mods can do what they see fit.

I do realise that I can be a bit sarky on here and even take the piss sometimes, but its never malevolent. A lot of it is said tongue in cheek Most of the peeps on here do have a good sense of humour and can often laugh at themselves as much as each other. Also, a lot of the established BBall experts on here have incredibly thick skin and will no doubt laugh off any personal insults. My problem is, as IRF has said above, When you try to follow the conversation between half a dozen 'Guest Guest's' ... it can get a bit confusing. Why people don't register, I just don't know? Personally, I take the opinions of registered posters more seriously than some random Guest Guest ... but that's just me !

Wait a minute how does your accounts stay logged in? I've gotta log in every time! Does my nut in! I'd rather people see my opinion than hide under a guest, but I do think more controversial (but fair) comments come from guests which like someone else said generally makes more interesting conversation

Mrtall, my tablet remembers my username and password and I just click login saves the hassle of writting it all the time.
I get what everyone is saying a bit of controversy adds spice to the convo, and im sure others would of already said if there was a major problem with some of the remarks.
Now wheres my cans better get them chilled before Flyers/Scorchers game

Wait a minute how does your accounts stay logged in? I've gotta log in every time! It depends ... Are using your Mobile or PC/Laptop ? to post. What browser you use i.e. Edge, Safari, Chrome or Firefox ! I tend to use Chrome with Google as my search engine, it will be different for other people. My login details/password are saved in my browser (most ask the 'Save' question when you log in ) You can probably do it through the settings of your browser (which ever one you use!) I'm sure some one with a more Tech background on here can explain it better than I can.

I developed what turned out to be a very successful forum at my own website. Some years ago now, it had become so big I separated it out and handed it over to the bunch of people who were volunteer moderators. It's on a very different subject (First World War history) but has been going since the mid 1990s, has 61000 registered members and almost 2 million messages posted. (It's at 1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php if you're interested). We've never allowed guest posting. More trouble than it is worth.
