Didn't the Basketball and football clubs in Chester work together for a while? How did it work out? I noticed the FC only got interested when they'd (again ) run out of money The basketball team talked to the footie club regarding being a fan owned club. I think they share the same mascot as well! There well of been more collaboration than what i'm aware off. |

Regarding the Chester/ Cheshire connection, they never worked together but there were lots of discussions and advice sought about the pitfalls and the best ways to overcome the difficulties faced. The football club became a community owned club several years before and when the Jets found it impossible to find the correct person to take over the franchise the idea of a community club looked like the way forward. A number of people /sponsors/ supporters of both sports were able to use the experience they had had with the football to enable the basketball club to succeed in becoming a community club.
The basketball squad have been introduced to th crowd at football games and Footballers have been to basketball. Beyond that I can't supply any further info as I' m only a supporter not involved in the running of either clubs.........and yes we do share a very hard- working and enthusiastic mascot. Fortunately there no basketball on a Saturday afternoon and no footy Sundaynevening!!!

Are Cardiff still linked with Cardiff City FC? That, Everton and Rangers were the only ones I remember.
