I was having a conversation with a fellow old timer and we were trying to recall who holds the record for the most points scored in an adult basketball game in UK.
I seem to recall that at one point it was Renaldo Lawrence who scored 70+ in his Stevenage days. However it seems unlikley that record still stands but more importantly where the hell do you check this stuff out? I've been googling away without luck. So if anyone can point me in the direction of a useful reference point then I would appreciate it. My mate reckons I'm wrong but somehow cannot provide me with an alternative answer!
Cheers All.

OK ... to rephrase his question ... which case
What sites does Dan use ... and what sites are likely to hold this sort of historical information/Stats.
Wikipedia holds some information regarding BBL and Basketball in general ... but is not always accurate.

Pretty certain Dan keeps his own records. Some sort of shared database of this kind of information would be amazing. Limited information of this kind is on the BBL website but I always find it hard to track down / wade through.

What league were Stevenage in?
I seem to remember Victor Moses posting 50 against Raiders 3 years ago and think that many have equalled the BBL record or come very close to it. Certainly wouldn't swear on it though. whatever happened to Victor. I know he was playing with a US select team in china over the summer, but no idea what he's up to now.

Saunders was another player, like Fab, who defied the effects of ageing. Great 3 point shooter.

Stevenage were Nbl 1. Renaldos 73 was at gateshead leisure centre vs gateshead. Lots of bank shots, not many threes.

I sadly aLeo remember that game! Victor is now playing in South America

I had an uncle who once played, for Stockport Belgrade, he said some shots are best left never taken, but I prefer jumpshots that are wide open...

In pre-BBL days, I remember Doncaster's Steve Pound putting 51 past Embassy All Stars (which became Milton Keynes) in a top of the table clash, against none other than Peter Sprogis. He later put 55 in against Manchester Giants. All pre-3 point rule, and Steve scored most of his points from way downtown. London had a guy called Bobby Cooper who put up 68 against someone low in the league - he was a tremendous leaper out of a Providence but if memory serves me right didn't really bother with defense.

Dan's records are probably the best around since Pete Jaques passed away and Pawprint went to Silicone Heaven.
As an aside Embassy /MK were a different club to hemel/MK/London Lions.

Trying to recall the biggest personal total seen in person in the UK, probably the American who put up 55 (I think, it was mid-50s) for London Capital vs Magic in D1. He missed the FT from an and1 that would have won them the game in regulation and we won in OT.
While we're on it does anyone remember where they played in the mid-00s? I came on the team bus and it could have been anywhere to me at the time.

They played at Capital City Academy in Neasden. Westminster now play there.
I know who you mean, but I'm buggered if I can remember his name. Over to Dave F....

Stockport Belgrade What a name that is!! Lol did they play in red/white or black/white?! probably the best British basketball team name I've ever heard, would have been right up my street It's surreal I've got a feeling whoever named them just thought Belgrade was a name you can put on the end of sports teams like Rangers or United or Albion Without realising it was an actual city? Lol

Home kit was black with orange trim. Was named after sponsors hotel - Dragon Lukic - yes he was Yugoslavian - who also was owner of Stockport County at the time. Coached by Bill Beswick GB coach at the time. Craig Lynch another long playing US import. Team became Warrington Vikings and Manchester United

They even played in Bracknell that season. Would have been a marketing dream had the London Metro Slick Willies ever met Kelly Girls Kingston. Unfortunately they were one and the same having relocated to Kingston the year after playing as Slick Willies. Not quite the same, but the year of Happy Eater Bracknell Pirates in that distinctive yellow kit with red trim remains the season to most easily visualise all these years later for both the kit and the name. Hard to believe that the current decade is the first in which a Bracknell based team hasn't at some time been in the top national division of Basketball in England/UK having hosted that level of basketball in the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's.
